Hello everybody,

Does "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.zip" fix applies to all JellyBean androids or is it only made specifically for HTC Incredibles?

What could possibly go wrong if I try to install it on a diff. phone (it's a Chinese Samsung Galaxy Note II knock-off)?

(BTW, I couldn't make a backup with ROM manager, I selected clockworkmod 2.0 version instead of 3.0+ because my phone wasn't on their list and they prompted me to choose but I'm a n00b and only starting with androids. So it suddenly went black with knocked-dead android, then into recovery mode and I rebooted. I recently rooted my phone (installed SU) and have made a bckp with Online Nandroid, tho.)

Thx for the answers

It's only for the HTC Dinc. It was created because we have a unique condition. The storage space for apps and data is by default 149 Mb.

If you are getting low space problem, delete your saved text messages as his is probably the data on your phone that has grown over time.

Yeah, no, I've cleaned everything i possibly could, it's the apps that are taking up space. However, I don't download new ones but instead keep uninstalling the old ones and after awhile i get the low storage space notification again. It seems to me like the same problem. I have an SD card with at least 20GB of free space and even the phone storage in settings shows up as less than a half used.

Theoretically, would that mod work for my phone if it was the same problem? (Because i have no idea what the original model the Chinese knocked-off was... )

You'd be surprised at how much data gets stored by playstore, Facebook, maps, navigation and other apps that are stored on the internal phone memory.

Download app2sd to check. Or disk usage

Yeah, thanks, I have those apps already, I had my apps transfered already using link2sd.
Disk usage shows 330MB occupied on my phone storage, the rest is free (around 700MB). No junk files,no anything.
Low space,however.

I can't even use some programs already, they're lagging.
Damn, I just don't get it.

thanks

thanks for this. faced with the threat of having to buy my wife a new iphone - this resurrected the htc droid incredible and its working well. a few things to note -

1 - the original instructions are a tad dated. i had to hunt around to root the device i got revoked 3.21 after getting the firmware too error (v 2.3.4)

i cant post the link as a brand new but i got revoked 3.21 from a webpage you can find if you google 'HTC Incredible: Firmware Downgrade (Gingerbread)' - its related to a firmware downgrade which i didnt need but had 3.21 which i did.

2 - the zip is now Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.v2.0.zip

thx again.

this works on 4.22 roms. I have it running on Evervolv

if you are rooted(and everyone's incredible should be rooted by now) you can install Titanium backup. It has a feature to move apps forcefully onto SD card. Akso you can convert system apps to user apps. That may help some people with their space problems. Some of the big space eaters with data that grows over tieare apps like email and facebook.

Well, you're in the completely wrong section. This forum is for the HTC Incredible, and this thread is how to fix it's low on space error. Absolutely nothing to do with rooting the TF300T. That being said, I'll leave your device forum right....about....here: Asus Transformer TF300T. Try asking (and searching) there if you haven't already.

Since this thread is a bit old, can someone tell me if the guide is still accurate?

I have a DInc with the low memory space issue as well as the update that never installs. I'm stuck at build 4.08.605.2. I'd like to root my phone to address both issues.

Thanks!

Thanks soniclude and everyone for this information. I am late to the moding of my HTC Incredible. I have one of the last truly unlimited Verizon 3G plans and recently upgraded to Android 4.2.2 Carbon ROM. Found myself running out of storage space and did a search here. Read the first post and since I had already rooted my phone went straight to step 10. Downloaded the mod file and placed it on my SD card. Rebooted into bootloader and installed. Rebooted and I am running happily through an open field...

Thanks again for the help.....:good:

halp meh

Ahoy! I have 1 problem and 1 question...

1) I bought my laptop used and Windows expired on it after like 2 years...so...I can't seem to get the HBOOT dealy...

2) Say I figure #1 out- I uninstalled HTC Sync, should I also temporarily uninstall DropBox?

Thanks!

Did someone tried this with LG G2?
This confuses me: "On your computer, find your phone's SD card. If you're unsure which drive is your SD card, look at how big each drive is. The drive that has a size of 6.59GB is the phone's internal memory, so the other drive is the SD card. The SD card that comes with the Incredible is 1.83GB in size, but yours may be different if you bought your own SD card.
Move "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.zip" from your computer to the SD card. Do not put it inside any folders."

LG G2 does not support external memory, so will it work if I place it in internal storage?
