when you buy a new phone just save your stuff to a computer then reformat the sd on the phone and transfer back things you need

Who cares if its 2 seconds, the phone shouldn't do that Period.

The sd I took out was given me problems and i did reformat it twice before. I jusy gave up and since i found a SanDisk 32gb for 16 bucks i went for it.

All i know is that the lag is gone and my battery has been lasting longer

Weird. Haven't noticed any lag. I'm stock and using a Sandisk card. I did notice a delay when attempting to turn the screen off. It doesn't do it all the time, but every now and then it will take 1-2 seconds to turn off.

I have the 32g Sandisk Class 10 and was lagging on wake-up then telling me that the card could no longer be read. I re-formatted the card twice, once in the phone, once on the computer and it stopped it for a while, but came back.

This didn't start happening until a week or so after I got the phone. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but the back of the phone kept getting real hot trying to read the card over and over. I have since took out the SD card and haven't had any issues. Been about 3 weeks since I removed it. Haven't tested another card yet to determine whether it was the card, or the sd slot itself. The card worked flawless in my S4 when I had that.

Also I should note that it was the same day ATT had the OTA update in early november.

Well i have been using my new sandisk and i did notice a difference from not using a sdcard but there is no lag like before so im going to keep using it for now.

Worst case if it starts again ill just take the card out and stay without it.

I think the problem is with the update. Software related

So every time you wake the device it takes 2s? Did it do this out of the box? I doubt it; so I'd suspect it's an app issue, or you've installed a bunch of wonky xposed modules or something.
It was the wonky xposed modules to me. I tried everything on earth before and the lag was not gone until I disabled the xposed modules. Thank you!
