I rooted my phone using Kingo everything said it was OK. Then I downloaded clock work recovery and pressed recovery mode that took me to the screen that has locked me out.In detail tell me what you where doing prior to the fail screen.

It started up. Verizon also did restart I think.
Not sure about voodoo. I suggest everyone use Kingo. It roots (very easily) and unroots as well.MJ7
Do you know if the app Voodoo ota rootkeeper will work to save root and unroot when there are updates.
You have been very helpful. One more question. When the new update comes out should I unroot phone and download then reroot phone or can you suggest another way to do this. Not sure about voodoo. I suggest everyone use Kingo. It roots (very easily) and unroots as well.
I recommend you flash MJE via Odin, then follow root link in my sig. No worries, nice and easy. Recovery is Safe strap (a version of twrp)... do not install CWM recovery OR Twrp ... only install safestrap as N3 has locked bootloader....

When next ota comes out, wait for new tar file, flash that tar, reroot with kingo, reinstall safe strap, enjoy...You have been very helpful. One more question. When the new update comes out should I unroot phone and download then reroot phone or can you suggest another way to do this.![]()
I don't recommend flashing anything on USA verizon other than USA verizon...Just saw a video on ODIN PRO for note 2 updating without loosing root. Can I use this to install the new 4.4 kitkat tar from Poland using ODIN PRO without losing root? Can I install this Poland firmware on my Verizon?

take a look what do you think?
After tar file is installed can I reinstall SS and recover what was on my phone? If you Odin a .tar file it will wipe everything on your phone including SS.
Yes as long as you can install SS again and everything was backed up via SS. Your backups are stored on your SD card witch a Odin flash will not touch. I would just make sure SS is compatible with whatever .tar you flash first. After tar file is installed can I reinstall SS and recover what was on my phone?
SS won't revert newest firmware, just installs itself. When I recover in SS. It will not go back to the old OTA right?
I just realized what you were asking. SS will not restore your settings and apps to the new tar install. That will have to be done manually. Sorry for the confusion. When I recover in SS. It will not go back to the old OTA right?
OK now I have it straight. I will know what to do.I just realized what you were asking. SS will not restore your settings and apps to the new tar install. That will have to be done manually. Sorry for the confusion.
How did it all turn out for you?OK now I have it straight. I will know what to do.
