You have to unzip/extract it.

(Long time lurker, but haven't ever posted so I can't reply in the developer section)

I'm about to try beans' kitkat leak, but I want to make sure I can get back to 4.3 if i need to. Will following the steps in OP post work from KK?

If not, could someone write up a quick guide? Thanks.

Look up Beanstown106's thread for new NC2. OP has all steps

Do I have to uninstall safestrap custom recovery to use odin to flash back to stock mje? I noticed I can just click an option in safestrap recovery to go to download Mode but I don't know if Odin works properly with custom recovery installed. Thanks.

You do not have to remove it, when you flash the stock MJE file it will remove it for you. Just boot into download mode and have at it.

Can't get my phone to boot

My Note 3 has been causing me some problems. So earlier today I got a "System UID inconsistency" error on reboot so I decided to reflash my rom (Baja ROM Build 14). I wiped data and installed the zip again and still had the same error and noticed that my system had been updated but safestrap wasn't wiping data. Tried it several times and kept getting the same result. Therefore, I decided to Odin back to NC2 and start fresh. When I ran Odin, and now my phone won't get past the boot screen and will bootloop if I try to boot into recovery. I tried the method the OP posted and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Try booting into download (vol down, home , pow) hit cancel.

If that doesn't fix your boot loop, I'd start from scratch and odin MJE, reroot, flash cust 4.3 rom, upgrade to NC2 leak, if you need a refresher see instructions in my sig (flash baja 14 instead of beans stock NC2).

Since you ODIN all the time, any suggestions to improve this write up or anything I missed?

Dear az_biker;48645261 , I am trying to Flash a Rom on my Note 3 and I need to use Odin 3, the problem I am having is when I try to flash this firmware >>>- MJE tar file>> ( ALL_N900VVRUBMJE_N900VVZWMJE_2106277_REV03_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5.7z ) Odin does NOT see the firmware tar file when the PC is browsed and the file that it is installed in is opened, Odin will see other files , but not the MJE tar file, I even opened it with 7 zip and Odin still does not see it , can you give me some advice on what I should dom or what I am doing wrong , here are the instructions that I am going by >>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48627708#post48627708. Thank You in advance and I appreciate your time :*)

Forgive me if I am not as good about this as you are, but I did open the file in 7 zip, and it changed it from a MD5 file to a 7zip file, and I tried it again and Odin still does not see it , I can see it in a file on my desk top , but Odin wont recongnize the file, it appears as empty ??? other files can be seen but not the Firmware file and Like I said I opened it up with 7 zip.
