I actually only want to flash U1 onto the ATT phone to have the banking app work. Even when logging onto banking app via web browser on the phone it gives me some kind of security error. But my ATT phone currently has binary 3 and the U1 firmware presented here has binary 1. Means I can't flash it onto my ATT phone? Or can I download any U1 firmware with binary 3 and flash that on the ATT phone?

What are the last 5 digits of the build number on your AT&T U and U1 devices? As far as I know, all of the U, U1, and W Note 9 firware are still on the v1 bootloader, but I am on T-Mobile and have only used the TMB U and U1 on my W.

960U is on 2AFR4 and 960U1 is on 3ARJ6

Ahhh. G960. Simple enough. The AT&T one has the v2 bootloader and the U1 has the v3 bootloader. You can find the U1 your device has and flash that to your AT&T U phone. Once you flash a device to the v3 bootloader though, you won't be able to go back to the 2ARF4. Updato, SamFirm, or Samsung Firmware Science should have the files you need as well as a few places on Android File Hosting. Just make sure the one you download is tagged XAA and not anything else. If you want the same firmware as your U1, look for that build number and XAA on one of the many places to download firmware. Some furmware list USC for U1 but are not the XAA.

There is no official T-Mobile U1. The T-Mobile firmware is a U firmware, not a U1 firmware. The U1 firmware works well for T-Mobile though, but you don't get Video Calling and the T-Mobile bloat on the non-carrier XAA U1 firmware. OTA's will come normally on stock official firmware versions.

So u1 isnt a proper firmware with OTAs? Is there a unbranded CSC for 960u?

The U1 is a proper firmware, but not the one known as the T-Mobile U1. The U1 firmware is similar to the W, just for the US. It is a generic non-branded, non-carrier specific firmware. The T-Mobile U firmware is a specific firmware geared for the best experience according to what T-Mobile thinks their firmware should include..

No biggie. Made a samsung backup before I flashed anyway. It booted up without errors and now it's restoring data. Hope it will fix my banking app issue.

Can the latest Pie for U1 be also flashed on to G960U AT&T models running BRJ6 firmware?

My phone have been sim unlocked and is being used on non AT&T network.

Any comments or advice?
