Yeah I had made this mistake trying to go back to U1 from U.... the recent update CSC7 is awful, the battery life is so bad and for me U1 has better battery and performance in my opinion
Ya same here, battery sucks. Hopefully they start rolling out some leaks. CSC3 was glitchy that's the only 2 ver4 I've seen.

There's a U1 CSC7 out now, running it now. No glitches SSI far, too early to tell on battery also.

Odin flash fail/ SMG960U recovery help

Hello. I attempted to flash my SM-G960U (from Cricket Wireless) with firmware, G960U1OYM4CSC7, from SAMMOBILE. I downloaded the Samsung USB drivers. I used 7-zip to extract the files from SAMMOBILE. There was an MD5 error on the extraction of the AP file. I deleted the ".md5" file extension, making it just a .tar file to allow it to load into Odin. I used the Odin3 v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD. I put my phone into download mode, connected to my PC, and started the flash. The process failed. Now the phone says "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." I downloaded that, but selecting the recovery function doesn't do anything. There is an option to recover using a recovery code, but I don't know what code to use.

I did manage to note the baseband version of my phone. It's G960USQS3BRJ6. Any help to recover my phone and correctly flash would be greatly appreciated.

You should have 5 files, not 1. Dont use/flash HOME_CSC, use the other CSC. here is the firmware https://samfrew.com/model/SM-G960U1/region/XAA/

hello, I just wanna ask if my S9 is G960U or G9600? I am confuse because the bootloader and baseband are G960U****** while the PDA and CSC are G9600******* thank you. And is it posible to flash G960U1 firmware on my S9?
My guess is a SM-G9600 but the bootloader suggests that it might be a G960U/U1.

Have Verizon service and accidentally bought AT&T g960u. Flashing to U1 right now for use on verizon. Will this device get OTA updates of any kind with U1 firmware, or must I take it a step further and flash Verizon specific firmware in order to get OTA updates in the future?

I mostly just want it to get security updates without having to manually flash them
