I must have tried 5-6 times to get the update on My Note 3 - I am rooted with DLV, but that wasn't stopping anyone else. So, I kept going over in my head: "What did I change on this device besides root"? I just KNEW there was something in the back of my head. If ONLY I could knock it OUT!

Answer: A changed System File. I had changed just ONE file in System/Apps. In my case it was Tetheringprovision.apk which I grabbed from an S4 hack since someone stated it worked perfectly on the Note 3 (It did) Fortunately for me I had renamed the old Tetheringprovision.apk as *.bak as well as tetheringprovision.odex.bak Your situation will differ, depending on what you changed, and there may be other factors like DPI that can bork the install so it may or may not be worth the effort,

The update is doing a file check. Any changed system files and it calls off the deal. Think! What else have you changed? If you have done a lot of theming and customizations since rooting, you are probably better off going back to stock with the OneClick.exe /Odin method,

But remember: You do NOT have to lose ROOT: If you cannot restore every file or apk thats been modiffied, just use the Unroot/restore to stock directions here: http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/10/how-to-unrootunbrick-at-galaxy-note-3.html

Then root again with Root De La Vega (I would NOT mess with Kingo, I don't care who says "It's Fine" any method that sends MY IMEI to an unknown location is NOT happening.) AFTER you root again, just don't touch anything, Get SuperSU Pro ($2.15 and totally worth it) Check the "Survival Mode" and Update to your OCD hearts content. I say that because ONLY a true OCD soul will have gone this far

Give me a thanks if this works for you. I tried the update about 6 times before I got mad and figured this out. Good luck, and be careful out there!
