Hello everyone, I have been carefully reading the 9 pages of this thread.
I have Google services perfectly installed in my Mate 30 Pro 5G since having Chinese firmware with EMUI 11 can be installed without having to resort to applications like Dual Space or downgrade to 10.1 ... and what does interest me a lot is to be able to receive push notifications without having to freeze the GSF apk.
I already did it once with Icebox + ADB and working with the Aurora Store, but I missed the Play Store and Google's location services a lot ... in addition, several paid apps did not work well for me as they had the built-in-purchase system in the Play Store.
That is why I am very interested in looking for a method that allows me to receive push notifications without having to unfreeze the Google Services Framework.
I have also used the Device ID app to copy the code of my GSF and register it on the Google website -> https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/ ... in fact, there I have 2 registered GSF id, the one from 2019 and the current one, since by mistake I deleted the data from Google Play Services last November when I wanted to try something and I had to reinstall all the GMS.
Summing up: This method of the colleague @mmarkq, does it work today? It seems that some do and others do not after waiting a few hours, right?
I am very happy to meet people who are trying the same thing as me. See if you can find a method that works ...
I had for a while freez the gsf and yesterday I activated it again. Since there are no play protect notifications. I don't need the play store. All apps work. For example Android Auto, Maps are work whit good GPS accurately and all notifications work. But now, whit play store all is good too. Comes the play protection notification back, I but my phone in airplane mode, restart it, wait till my gsf ID comes back and deactivated airplane mode. Now, I'm happy whit my phone. I'm now are on 11.0.0.151But, have you been without Play Protect notifications for 20 hours since the last time you did it, or was it the first time and you have been without notifications for 20 hours?

First time I tried this it worked, but I got play protect notifications after 12 hrs. Went back to GSF freeze, but I want Play Store so tried this guide again. Now it's been a couple of days and no errors so far. P40 Pro with 11.0.0.151. GMS installed with an old guide from last summer, not using googlifier.
Notifications, gps and Google Play all work ok.
The one or two times I've got play protect notifications error, it was easy to fix (as in the updated guide in first post):
airplane mode
force stop gsf
delete gsf data
reboot
wait less than 5 min for gsf device id to appear
turn of flight mode
*When you said: "Went back to GSF freeze..." -> How did you freeze GSF on your device? ADB + Icebox? Is it necessary if I would have Play Protect notifications later?
*And if you need to reboot your phone anytime ... first of all you have to change to Airplane mode, right? or not?
I have been using "Multi-Tool 8", from a computer to Freeze / Unfreeze GSF. So had to connect to computer to do the job. Never tried Icebox. My (short) experience is that I don't need to do this any more. If I get Play Protect notifications, just do the instructions in the guide (airplane mode, delete, restart etc).
When reebooting, put the phone in ariplane mode first, reboot, and maybee wait a few minutes before activating data again (might not be necessary to wait).
Windows Defender has started to report Multi-Tool 8 as a trojan (Trojan:Win32/CryptInject!ml), might be a false positive, but don't want to use this program any more.
Icebox works bretter with commands. Its not so heavy software either. My device p40 pro. What kind of device have you got?
What do you mean "because I curious" ??
Still no errors currently?
People have different prioritys. Someone likes to fiddle with their Phone and was aware of the risk when buying the Phone. Are we all saying that we are willing to put up with the nonsense of having to deal with these notification issues in order to have a phone with the best camera?
I just got this phone used and didn't read too much into the Google thing, only that it was possible. Now regretting my purchase as I don't have time to fiddle about every couple of days incase I miss an important email because the push notifications stopped working suddenly!
How realistic is it that we will find root on this device soon without bootloader unlock? And maybe use magisk to come up with a better solution?
yes I tested the method it is good but we are a slave because of putting our phone in airplane mode wait, to pay attention to its battery if the phone cuts out ... any way yes if you use this method you will be able to use the application of your bank but not google pay.[UPDATE] -> Does anybody got Play Protect notifications today ??
@terjene @djrush @mmarkq @Seresseran1
After do it this way in order to take push notifications ... does Play Protect still working at Play Store if I access to Play Store > Settings > Play Protect ??
Can I use my Bank app to view account balances, movements, etc. ??
Can I make payments (NFC) by my Bank app ??

push notifications work wellDoes push notifications work nice on your device?
Have you got GMS installed in? Does Play Store work nice? Have you got any Play Protect notification?
I switch off the Mate 30 every night before going to sleep so I must to disconnect Wifi + Data mobile and turn on Airplane mode ... right?
Battery always I charge since 30-40% remaining.
push notifications work well
GMS installed playstore works fine
yes you must first cut the wifi activate the airplane mode before switching it off. (for me it's painful I think the GFS will be frozen soon)
to do all of these procedures before turning off my phone and turning on my phone.
Yes, the best way to have everything working is to repeat the whole process until you get it. And yes, changing GSF ID forces to reinstall/clean current apps. Will this break my notification? I really do no want to reinstall all my apps...
