I was literally about to make this post

Apparently that will work for our version but I don't want to try it in case something goes wrong feel free to try it. Let me/us know if it worked.

Installed it, it didn't work

I flashed this months ago. Just using the regular method. It has stuck since. Magisk did update their module schema though. Not sure. But yes, I have the T-Mobile variant. What happens when you try to flash it? What does it say?

Nothing it installs fine, but the T-Mobile boot animation stays. Apparently people were having issues with it working on magisk 20.3 that's why I was asking.

Just reinstalled it and same issue the T-Mobile boot sticks

I can't believe they ditched the McLaren boot animation they could have easily put something like powered by TMobile or something

I can confirm, with 20.3 I'd appears to install but does not change the boot ani. Then it does not uninstall :(

It's better to use magisk Canary for our device

I'm sorry. But how are you able to create/rename/delete a file in system with ANY file explorer app??? That shouldn't be possible.

Welp it is I just used root browser and did what I needed to do there's no space but I just kept doing the same thing over and over again until it finally stuck.

Edit: well it's not sort of? I had to place the files from the module to the module which required going to the root-data-adb folder where all the magisk module stuff is and placing the files there it wouldn't work at first but if you did it enough times it would stick.

I see. Yeah, /data will work just fine. I thought you were manually copying the boot animation .zip to /system/media

what about turning phone off T-mobile animation?, is there any way to replace it with original Mclaren turn off animation ?

In theory could you not put any shutdown animation into that module folder and name it shutdown.zip haven't tried it for myself but if it changes bootanimation.zip it could change shutdown.zip since they are located in the same folder on /system.

Edit: so yea that's exactly how it works. I now have the McLaren boot animation and the McLaren shutdown animation. I would assume as long as you have the correct resolution you could replace the boot and shutdown animations with anything through the module folder.

Follow the same steps for the boot animation process but rename it to shutdownanimation.zip give it rwrr permissions and reboot (it will still be TMobile at this point) boot up and reboot again and it should be the shutdown animation.
