I currently have ICS with CWM 5.5.0.4. I'm trying to go back to everything stock since I'm giving away the phone.
From what I'm read so far, I would have to do the following. Someone please correct me if this is the wrong order.

1. flash stock recovery (from Binary100100)
2. re-lock bootloader
3. re flash stock ROM

So far i'm still stuck on step 1.

After relocking bootloader, just download the OTA ICS RUU, rename the file to PH85IMG.zip, put it on your microSD card, and boot into bootloader. It'll automatically recognize the file and restore back to stock ICS.

Thanks. After many attempts, I finally figured out I was having a problem with Windows 64bit, switched to a 32bit and everything went smoothly. Good thing I still have an old 32bit windows machine, it saved the day.

thanks for the tip.

I am curious about what problem you were having. Was it the fact that it was 64 bit, or was it just an issue with the computer? I am trying to do the same thing you have done. My issue is that when the phone tries to install PH85IMG from the sd card it fails after checking and sends me back to the hboot screen. I am on wind mobile and had stock ICS prior to rooting and getting into my current issue.

Just thought you might have a suggestion? I have followed all the same steps you did.

Follow post 2 for the order of install, kered424's reply.

The trouble I was having was for my computer to recognize my phone was connected in order to re-lock the bootloader. I tried it on two different Win7 64bit and was running into the same problem were they search for the driver(via windows update) but end up failing to install. I think it said failed to install HTC device 1 or something like that. So after being frustrated for 3 hrs, I tried it on a 32bit Win7 machine. As soon as i plugged in the phone, it installed from windows update and I was able to go on with the bootloader re-lock.

Not sure if I did something wrong on the 64bit pc's but that's my story.
