i just tried this and got a short curcuit and decent smoke within seconds. im having a LIS1499ERPC battery for my Xperia T which shows the sony ericsson logo and prototype 1.1A - not for resale. bought it as a replacement battery on ebay.

anyhow the battery seems to be ok, used to work for months until it got below 1% some days ago. voltage currently is at 2.9V , which is to low for the phones charger to recharge it. the wires seem to be good, i've already performed some continuity testing on the curcuits and all wires seem to be ok.

ive connected gnd from the batt to the outter right pin (-) of the cable.

any hints?

Thankyou - it worked. My battery has new life and is charging. Had the problem with red light. Charging for 48 hrs did nothing, red led on and off - phone would boot or show load screen. Pressing power: no help. Even tried the other mod to load the battery directly via cable from a 9V block - did nothing to help. But your mod worked - phone showed load screen after a few seconds and is now fully charged and working again.

Danke & Grüße
