Update on how to get the right CSC (XEF) for the 5.1.1. update to show up

Here is how to change the CSC code to XEF (absolutely needed in order to get the 5.1.1. update)
- install & root with your preferred way ( [ROOT] PingPongRoot ***S6 & S6 Edge Root Tool*** or CF-Auto-Root
- install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ (paid version). Now in order to make the "Change CSC" option you will need to update the Superuser to "Superuser v2.49"

Here is how to update the SuperSU:
- Download the zip file at http://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
- Extract and get the Superuser.apk file from the 'common' folder inside it.
- Install Superuser.apk, it will ask to update the binaries to the latest version. Let it update.
- Reboot the phone.

One of the users noted (related to using the tool Phone INFO ★Samsung★ (paid version) to change the CSC code) that: "I finally changed the CSC with this steps: rooted with Ping Pong, installed Phone Info (thank you for this app), and SuperSu 2.94, changed CSC, error on Recovery, Wipe data factory reset in Recovery, flashed the phone with Odin. Tested with 2 G925F phones."

I can confirm I followed the same procedure and it worked!

Hi man. If I am on Build Number: G920FXXU1AOCV, my start screen with Telekom ( I have waranty) will disapear after flashing your rom? I must do the "Emergency software recovery and initialization" with Smart Switch before flashing this with Odin to not get the bootloop problem? What is the problem with CSC and waranty?

Thanx!

A bit of attention.

Read my post twice. In order to be able to get the 5.1.1. (at least for now) you need the XEF CSC (France). If others can confirm that they can get 5.1.1. without the XEF CSC that indeed an update / downgrade to your suggested firmware (an other as well) will work just fine. Until then CSC change is needed in such procedure requires root (unfortunately)

I think they should have one version of firmware for all ..or even one s6 and one s6 edge ...not so many variants. ..

New bootloader blocks downgrading, be careful installing 5.1.1 OTA!
Kernel built after May 15th (including some 5.0.2 and all 5.1.1) have PingPong xploit fixed. Be cautious when installing OTA these days and FlashFire might be your best shot of upgrading systems. i do not recommend to install 5.1.1.

This guide does not offer a guarantueed, immediate update. It simply does flash a French firmware, since this is the first EU country to receive OTA for G920F, which is fine. BUT the way updates are, they will not come to everyone immediately. So it can last up to a week, before the OTA finally arrives and you should tell guys, before they are forced to setup their S6 from scratch and end up frustrated.

OK, but from what I can tell the update is available for all the devices with that firmware via OTA; at the moment they are upgrading to 5.1.1. Why do you consider it can take a week?

Since this happens for all OTA`s, they are incremental. So some users get it on day 1, others on day 2, other even later. It`s like that since ages. Manufactureres use this careful way of rolling out upgrades to avoid issues, in case OTA includes a major bug.

I will agree with you but this method that I wrote worked perfectly for me (at least)
