Thank you very much for this.
It would be great if you would clarify this for me and the rest of the users who look at this in your Original Post:
- Do you keep root after this?
- Any way to keep my data and apps?
- Is battery life better on 5.1 than it is on 5.0.2?
- What is the meaning of life?

You can install SuperSU after restore this backup.
Best way is wipe data and cache.
For me battery life is little better.
I google'd for you meaning of life, there was no results and browser get fc when I search this.

    AWESOME!!

Installed it using the method posted by OP. amazing thanks for sharing. btw for root after rom is flashed twrp asks if you want to root it or not just accept it. rom is running great had a few fcs but no fcs are recurring :D twist to start camera works... custom voice for ok google now works, active display works but the wave over phone feature does not work. active display seems to have a new UI. battery charged to 100 will let you all know about battery life from my side :D
