I managed to install both apps. I also deactivated the Message app. So if I click on Message button the app WhatsApp is opening. However I the app closes ...crashes. I'm not able to set up the app, meaning enter mobile number etc.
ANy idea?

A lot of people are reporting issues with WhatsApp. If there's other versions I would try that. I didn't put it in OP since it's unstable.

But all the app did everytime I got to the last step, it just said "Initializing" for a very long time but then got some error. The second time, I tried installing the Apk from a different website like Uptodown, but this time, after the first setup, everytime I try and open the app it instantly closes. I got it to work, but I cant send any messages to groups on whatsapp, and I do not think its worth it only having it on the smartwatch and not both smartwatch and phone.

Hi all and thanks for this guide. I've found a really useful way of using this. Basically I'm using a 3 HK global travel esim on my watch. It gives me 13GB of data anywhere in the world for 12 months for just under 40USD, it also gives me a separate Hong Kong number for activating WhatsApp. (My Irish network doesn't do companion esims or any esims at all for that matter so I had to go this route.) It works perfectly for making calls etc. through my HK WhatsApp account etc. I really recommend it.

The only issue I have is that the WhatsApp option is disappearing sometimes from my Google Contacts sideloaded app, is this a known issue? Is there any other 3rd party contact wears os apps that always show the WhatsApp option I wonder?

Otherwise it's a great solution. There's times when I don't want to carry my phone but still need to just call people or listen to music and the watch can be great for that.

I actually read about the article of WhatsApp now letting it's account sync on multiple devices and tried this method right away and I got till the point where it shows on the watch that the messages are syncing but then the app closes on the watch and does not open after that, anyone faced this "app closing" issue??
