How do you do step 1? I couldn't find any information about where to find the HavocOS Keystore or what it is? I assume it's an app to resign APKs for HavocOS?

Thanks for helping an ignorant person like me :p
Sorry I'm the new here so I can't paste any link and file.

Havoc keystore is at Havoc-OS github "android_build" repo /target/product/security
We need platform.x509.pem and platform.pk8

Sign it
Code:
java -jar signapk.jar platform.x509.pem platform.pk8 unsigned.apk new.apk
signapk.jar can be found at other github projects, just google it.

Ok so after some more thought I realised that since the Vendor image is the same as before, the camera performance shouldn't have changed compared to the stock HTC ROM? Let me know if I'm wrong, I'm new to Treble GSI custom ROMs.

I tested the latest GCam 7.3 ports from the most popular GCam Developers and I found that the best port for the U11+ is "BSG's 7.3 v0f" which can be found here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-bsg/

Performance is the best of any GCam port I've tested, image processing seems to work perfectly (unlike most ports), no hot pixels, accurate colour reproduction, all modes work perfectly including the front and rear cameras.

I haven't tried his 7.4 port yet, but I can't imagine it being much better than his last 7.3 build. I'll probably test it later.

These are the settings you should enable to get the best image quality: http://imgur.com/a/5kMSO0M

I wouldn't bother enabling Pixel AWB, it just seems to correct lighting of the scene (usually by making it blue or cool in temperature) rather than represent the actual lighting.

Let me know how you find it :)

I'm actually shocked, the camera performance using this GCam port is as good as stock as far as I can see.

Thanks for the guide, the only thing I'm kinda stuck on is the "resize file system", I don't see that option on twrp (version 3.3.1-0). I'm not using any gapps so it isn't an issue, but I'm still curious as to how to actually resize partitions without doing it manually.
It does run well too.
But I will say that project treble makes me not fear about getting a phone with a little to no community behind it (or even official support for that matter)

Before resizing file system, you should mount System in TWRP and you will see the option

I upgrade Havoc to 3.8, then keep going in circles at boot time.
----Soloved----
1. Format data to remove data encryption in TWRP
2. Wipe all
3.Reboot to download mode to reflash the recovery img file.
4.Flash Havoc 3.8
5.Flash PhhMagisk
6.I am not select that install TWRP into os, choose install TWRP later.
7.Resize file system (NOT wipe system)
8.Restart
9.Done

This tutorial is a waste of precious time. I did everything according to the step-by-step guide with the files attached to the download. After flash magisk phh, the system will be unmounted and the wipe resize section cannot be mounted back, even if I did it 10 times, the repair with the syatem also does not work, so without installed partition htc will not run on havoc rom.Do not mislead people if you are not sure if it works on htc u11 plus devices

It runs smooth for me, but for the first week I kept crashing at the lock screen randomly and had to do a reset. Sometimes a normal reset would just bootloop or crash on the lockscreen again. So I had to specifically go into download mode -> bootloader mode -> recovery mode (TWRP) -> "reboot to system" which would let me get past the lockscreen without crashing.

The battery life and thermal performance is MUCH better, it's too early for me to say but I think it's pretty close to Oreo battery life and heat management might be EVEN BETTER.

I still think that HTC Oreo was smoother, but most phones weren't as smooth as the U11+ on Oreo.

The camera performance is definitely worse though, that could just be because we're forced to use the GCam port instead of the stock HTC app but it's inconsistent with lighting and sometimes crushes black levels on people's faces too much. If I find improved settings or a better GCam port then I'll link it here for you guys to use :)

I'm pretty sure that TWRP not being able to decrypt data is a bug with that specific version of TWRP, but I don't think there's another TWRP image that will work on the U11+ so we have to deal with it.

It worked fine for me, I flashed Havoc OS and Magisk straight after I think?

I couldn't resize system but I think the fix is in this thread somewhere. It didn't matter for me.

There is no misleading, many people have a working HavocOS on the U11+.

Yes it got better for me, now I don't see lockscreen crashes until every 1 or 2 months.

When you get a bootloop you have to go into TWRP and reboot to System, which will fix the bootloop. But after this it is likely you will get a lockscreen crash. Maybe not straight away, but after you lock your phone again, next time it will be frozen on the lockscreen.

My advice is to leave it locked with screen off for a few minutes. This will let the device 'settle' and next time you try to unlock it won't crash.

I am using HavocOS 3.7

I am using HavocOS 3.7 and it is bug free.

After fresh install the first few weeks it would crash at the lockscreen and then bootloop. I found out that going into TWRP and booting to System would fix the bootloop. I also have tips to get past lockscreen crash bug in the reply above.

But after 1 month I don't see bootloops or lockscreen crashes, only very rarely.
