Hey guys, I have an Atrix with stock 4.5.141 and was wondering how do I install custom roms?

Huge warning here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501532

that says to never flash SBF files which seems like I have to do to make the device unlocked so that custom roms can be installed so what do I do?

I see this automatic unlocker: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871&page=88

But it just seems like a scripted program that runs what I am not supposed to do on 4.5.141.

I just want to make sure everything is alright before I proceed and end up with a brick.

johnny13oi - This is all you need to do on .141:
Flash this - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34025287/4547-fix-try2.sbf using RSD lite, 5.3.3 or higher will work fine
Its the pudding only - not the full service sbf. Its only the unlockable bootloader. Flash that and then flash RomRacer's latest CWM - load your ROM of choice onto your internal SD card and flash it. Simple as that. :)

Thank you so much for your help. Can anyone please confirm these instructions? It just seems like the very thing that the warning post said not to do so I am just worried.

says it works just like before on .141. so just try it. if it bricks it bricks.
I can 100% confirm that this works for 4.5.141

I unlocked my device using this method. It was simple and painless. However, you will have to re-root if you are already rooted. If not, you'll just have to root after!

Guys I need some help please... I'm searching for latest RSD. my second phone has 4.5.141 and I used my old RSD 5.3.1 and ended in "FAILED TO BOOT 0x1000" with "STARTING fastboot protocol support".

Can I have link for latest RSD and quick guide if I will restart again?

found this solved...

You just need to finish the process.

This is normal for gingerbread bootloaders and causes a lot of panic but just get into fastboot (which you wouldn't be able to do if you were hardbricked) and do the unlock process.
