How to install Honor Note 8 Emui 5.0 B350/B332/B320 ROM with Root

You are download the jp Version and not the cn Version right?

This is what I get in the list to choose from:

I have chosen B350 that was 2.313GB and it didnt work right, I also tried the 1.87GB version, also same result. I just updated to B332 and then tried to update to B350 247MB version, but I get authentication failed, but I suspect it wouldnt work either.

So now the question, how did I install B350 with FF. You have to install either downgrade Firmware to B027 or B029, and then use FF and install B350. for some reason you cannot install B350 on top of B332. So you have to Downgrade to MM 6.0 B027 or B029 and then install B350, but many things are broken. Could be because of jumping to B350 from B027/B029, but I dont think so, Device ID comes back as generic a15.

Sorry no screenshots forgot to take them before I went back to B332.

0. advanced wipe dalvik cashe system data from twrp
So now I sell this big phone today...

I am sure we will meet again in Huawei space- I like big phones too much...

You are most likely right, since the 2.3 & 1.8GB both show up as tablets on the phone, but cant get the smaller version to install. But I do know B350 is out because in the huawei forms some people have gotten this rom already.

No. It is great phone. But not so easy to take every day with you . Also it is not easy to sell and I had good chance. I will back to note 9 probably. I hope a little smaller and without notifications problems

Have tried everything- flashify/adb/TWRP app/fastboot mode & flash- but not able to boot to TWRP. Have tried TWRP in OP, TWRP from Mate 8, P9, from EMUI 4.0 (Which was working when I last rooted in Dec'16) but no go. Every time, recovery flash is successful but the phone gets stuck at 'Your device has been unlocked and cant be trusted'

Am able to boot to erecovery as well as can force phone to auto update but just not able to boot to TWRP. I have downloaded EMUI 5.0 files, is there any way to force upgrade? (Tried placing 78472.zip but installation failed) Pls help!

Format the phone erease all several times and then connect to the pc,hi suite can solve problem,you can go back to B29 with hisuite and try to install again

After flashing the B332 install Twrp for Emui 5 from first Post.

Twrp for Emui 5 works not with the Emui 4.1 Firmware!

Hi! How can I get full access via ADB - i use Totall Commander + plugin ADB. I do not see any folders. Root, busybox installed.
Boot_Insecure_B332_Fix-adb_dm-verity was flashed, but without result.

You have to install supersu Emui5 zip file via twrp after. Busybox, you install it from the PlayStore.

Yes, i install su via recovery, after flashing this boot. All program normall see root, but do not work adb via plugin.
and command
adb shell
su - all ok
i do not run any script sh - system r/o

If you can wait tonight, I'll make another modified boot or l gonna change 1 or 2 lines about of adb. I saw with another user, he also had an issue with adb. I know how fix it but I couldn't before tonight. I'm at work!

Yep, on EMUI 4.1 B029 version
Nope, it used to but since flashing from OP (EMUI 5.0 one), it does not and not able to flash old TWRP now.

Tried updating via OTA, it downloaded 20% of update.zip (B332) but since I had the downloaded files (And limited Net pack), I overwrote it but update failed. Now, it says 'no update available''

Guess I will have to format everything and start afresh from B029..

Can't boot into recovery mode after flashing twrp 3.1.0.0, but successfully flash twrp 3.0.2.0 back.

@letschky Issue with your TWRP mate. Finally was able to upgrade to Nougat but only after changing recovery.

I flashed back to Stock recovery> fastbooted KangVip TWRP 3.02> flashed B332 (as per your procedure) > flashed your TWRP (again got stuck with not able to boot to TWRP) > fastbooted KangVIp TWRP 3.1.0 from Huawei site > fastbooted Boot.img > Enter TWRP and viola was able to enter into recovery and finally flashed supersu.

There is some issue with TWRP in OP as some one else has also complained. Anyways, happy with the result but I struggled for 4 days to get to Nougat.
