I have an Honor Note 8 Chinese version that was Rooted on a custom B029, I had installed play store separately and got rid of the Chinese bits and pieces by using text editor. I was using B029 in UK without issue. Here is how I did my update to B332 with Huawei stock rom. I now have EMUI 5 and phone is nougat 100 per cent working fine however root has been removed. I didn't need to backup phone and I didn't lose any data, but I have not had to do anything but I will have to re root for my own preference.
1) Go to settings, update and it should say no update available.
2) Download and install Hi Care app from play store.
3) Open Hi Care app, go to service and look at update icon, and click it and check for updates, if you have EUROPE UK set as your region it will say no update available. In Hi care app go into ME section, go to settings and change region to Asia Pacific and select China, the go back to service and check for update and you will see B332 stock rom update.
4) Go to phone settings and update and you will now see the update ready to download, It is around 2.6gb so do it on WiFi. Start the download and your phone will reboot and stock B332 will install.
5) Phone restarts running EMUI 5 with no root, but all my emails, I apps and everything worked perfectly and Nougat is running perfectly.
6) I changed Hi Care app back to UK region.
Hope this helps and avoids the risk of custom roms. Android pay also works fine however when I root it I am sure I will lose that function.
After installing stock rom my bootloader remained unlocked so will be able to root easily.
