Thank you for the work on this. Mine is HD Plus.. Only problem I'm having after upgrade is the unit ignores "Power off" and seems to turn itself on after about 30 seconds of black screen and boots back up. Battery is at 100%, and I disconnected the USB cable, nothing is connected. Anyone else seen this?
Yes, my HD+ does that also.

Thanks for conforming it. I have two units, both HD+. One was 16GB and still on stock B&N before I converted it to LN14.1 2 days ago. The other was 32GB model CM11 converted years back, and now converted to LN14.1 - and it's the one that kept powering on. I let it sit for 6 hours and checked on it - and then it got worse - it was completely stuck at the Nook turn on screen. Cold-started it at least a dozen times, failed. I finally was able to get it to boot into SD Card recovery after about 12 tries. (this same 16GB SD Card worked fine in loading the 16GB HD+). I formatted EVERYTHING, including data, and did a fresh install of LN14.1 / gapps / etc. After a few hours,it got stuck on the Nook turn-on screen again. I guess the MMC on this one is just dead. I don't think it's worth wasting more than the 4 hours I put into it this week, time to retire it. The screens on these are really nice, but the flash memory has always been garbage buggy.

My dad got a new tablet and gave me his old Nook HD yesterday. It's a pretty old device but a surprisingly nice screen! I installed the latest LN ROM from the page in the OP. I'm also having the issue where the device automatically powers on after powering it off. It's not too big of an issue and I have found the ROM to be totally usable despite this. Big thanks to the developer putting these out!

Is there any fix to the auto power on issue, or is this something we have to deal with? Not complaining, just wondering if there's anything anyone out there has done that has helped them with it.

There have been reports of this issue of the "power off" menu option behaving as a "reboot", but I myself have not encountered it. You should post your question on the Nougat development thread so as to maximize chance of getting answer.

So, by the time I got to this thread, the versions of the rooms have been updated compared to those listed in the OP.

I found that flashing either Lineage or Aosp versions along with the latest pico gapps resulted in a successful install, but setup wizard crashing each time. I fixed all installed app by itself, set it up, then went back and flashed pico gapps. That worked without issue.

My only other issue was with launcher3 and browser that comes with this build on Aosp. Browser crashed when attempting to download anything, but easily replaced with Chrome. Launcher is missing settings, choosing wallpaper crashes it, and the search bar doesn't do anything (does something else need to be installed to make the search bar work?). I replaced with Nova to fix those issues without a problem.

Other than that, it's definitely less smooth than the aging cm11-12 rooms, but it's nice to have the modern system on here. Impressed that it runs at all. Great job to the devs. Just wanted to share my experience.

Just thought I'd post here to potentially help anyone struggling the way I was installing this.

I tried to use this because I couldn't install the new TWRP using the existing CWM as per the other thread.

However, I got the process crashes during setup. I tried the clean actions three times using three different SD cards, each time making sure I didn't install the Gapps file, still, it wouldn't let me through the setup.

I then tried to just install the LN14.1 zip file, & again it crashed, this time I spotted that the clock was shown in the top right-hand corner. I pulled down on that corner & it showed me settings icons, including wifi. I went into network settings through that & set up wifi. Pressed back & it took me to setup, however, I could now go through the 'set up from cloud' option, which didn't crash.

From there I simply added google account & selected don't install any existing apps or backups etc.

Setup then completed. As soon as that was done I powered down, popped the sd recovery card back in & installed TWRP recovery, rebooted again, then installed Gapps.

Took sd card out, rebooted again, & voila, a fully working up to date LN14.1 at last.

It could be something very specific to my device/setup, but just in case it's not, figured I'd post here to potentially help others with the same thing. My thanks to Amaces for putting in so much hard work, & to digixmax for doing such great simple & easy to follow instructions. If these instructions could cause further issues for anyone, let me know & I'll delete it.

Step 8 in the first post states to setup wifi.

How were you doing it before, when having problems/crashes, if not through settings?

It wouldn't let me past the set up new device option & I couldn't get into the settings page using that trick at all, just wouldn't respond to swipe or touches anywhere.

It did let me in the install from cloud options but obv without Internet couldn't go any further.

The way you got into settings (from the notification bar) is what the first post meant.
It was the same with another ROM I used on one of my devices (I forget now which).

I see the post was edited and the steps renumbered.
Once the HD+ completes boot-up (be patient as the post-installation initial boot would take 3-5 min), set up the wifi connectivity and your google account info.

This part. At that stage the only way to set up wifi is through the notification bar.

In the past (up to and include the 01/04 build), the "first-time" (i.e., after a clean flash/install) setup process as a first step would automatically open a WiFi network setup menu. It now appears that with recent builds (post 01/04 build) one now have to manually bring up the WiFi network setup menu using the setting icon on the notification bar.

Did you read my post on page 1? If you are having the same issue as me, selecting the Nook's "Power Off" option doesn't work, the tablet powers back on.

You have to long hold the power button and the tablet will power off and stay off.

root bntv600 LOS14.1

Root is built into this ROM and can be enabled in Settings->"Developer Options", but because of a current bug you'd need to enable it, then disable it, then re-enable it again.
I'm looking at the settings>developer options>root access
There are two options to root
"disabled" and
"ADB Only"
The default status on root in the window says "Apps and Root" when I click one of the options I'm given after clicking on the option to root and the only option is "ADB" does that mean my nook hd+ is rooted? I don't understand the difference

The developer has changed the Root setup in the most recent builds -- see https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72059916&postcount=1873 as referenced in my updated OP.

I actually found your FAQ in a google search just since I'mma noob I had to figure out some terms in the directions. I ended up getting stuck on setup with LNOS14.1 (your unofficial download) had to drag down on the screen when it kept telling me that the setup was being interrupted and then after setting up wifi to allow the cloud to finish the install I lost wifi completely. This all happened after my first and second attempts at root. I ended up downloading the LNOS root file and it worked , got my wifi back after doing wipe/dalvik and going through it all again hahaha but it's all up and running, just some odd disconnects with netflix which is what I use my nook hd+ for the most. So thanks man, I'm learning and your work saved my nook! Can't wait to see what LNOS does with the promised official release too

Same problem here. I didn't try the restore from cloud option, because I wanted the tablet to stay offline for the moment. Luckily I know a few Android internals that help to get around this issue with the Setup Wizard. The wizard sets some flags, which you can do manually. After the Nook has booted and shows the Setup Wizard, simply connect it to your PC via USB, and start an ADB shell on the PC (luckily, USB debugging appears to be enabled by default, otherwise ADB wouldn't work).
Then, in the ADB shell, enter these commands:
Code:
settings put global device_provisioned 1
settings put secure user_setup_complete 1
settings --cm put secure cm_setup_wizard_completed 1
The last one obviously is a CM/LineageOS-specific setting, not sure if it's needed. Anyway, after entering this, the Setup Wizard will think it has run already, and can be bypassed by crashing it or rebooting.
Hope that helps some people.

Upgraded from old CM 11 ROM. The old ROM was very sluggish and hence I wasnt even using the tablet for almost an year. Wanted to try Magzter and I thought why not give this ROM a try as the HD+ screen is excellent for reading.

Followed all the steps and voila I have been reading Magzter non stop for the past 3 hours. Have got about 3.5 hours of SOT and currently battery is @ 40%. So SOT seems good. Thank you for giving new life to my 3.5 old year tablet. :) Wifi works fine. Haven't encountered any bug yet.

Latest experimental build seems to have an issue with root, root checker as well as several other apps like Lucky Patcher are reporting no root, and only root options showing in developer is Off, And ADB. It says ADB and Apps before you tap it, but after tap only shows what I referred to above. Is there any fix, I tried flashing the root fix from Lineage, but it fails when I try to flash it.

Did you install addonsu-14.1-arm.zip from amaces' portal https://notredame.app.box.com/s/26a4bygh9vbaw7jjq08xr5evomvaw5ww?

See the note re: enabling root at the end of my OP of this thread.
