how to keep partition A updated but unrooted?

my active partition b is rooted and has october patch. if there will be a new ota update I will switch to partition A (unrooted august update) and do the ota update from there to b and than reroot b again. but a stays august update. is there a possibility to update A as well? but keep it unrooted for ota updates

One way to achieve this is to flash factory image over it with option to preserve data, so you will have both partitions on the newest version
