How to make screen wake up?

Coming from a note 2... I've grown accustomed to my screen waking/lighting up when i get a text. .. Do u guys know how to have my note 3 do the same thing?

Not sure but I'm glad they got rid of it. Was a battery killer. But they should at least give u the option to turn it off and on

Depending on how attached you are to the stock messaging app you could use a third party messenger. I use handcent and it makes the screen light up
