I applied the mic gain to 14.1 plus the auto update patch which has kept it in place as 14.1 updates were applied. If I upgrade to 15.1 will the mic gain still work & will it be automatically applied?
No because the mixer path xml is in a different location

I've already edited the Los 15.1 mixer paths
I've attached a flashable zip below - you will have to recreate your auto update patch to reflect the changed path - its now in system/vendor/etc

I've done the mod as per op but if you want to do further mods or change the values just edit the xml in the zip

Thanks for that. I rely on Whatsapp for many calls and it took me so long to get a working patch for 14.1 I think I will wait a while. I'm perfectly happy with 14.1 anyway so dont need 15.1 as such but I just like having the latest release, sad I know :D

Fix for Android 9 - Lineage 16

I just flashed the zip file onto klte Lineage 16, so Android 6. Same as 15.1 the mixer_paths.xml now resides under /system/etc/vendor. Weirdly enough I got into a boot loop afterwards. I diffed the back_to_stock and the 11.9 zip and found out that there are several more changes not initially mentioned. I ported those to the Android 9 mixer_paths.xml file and pushed it into a zip file. It works as expected on my phone. Also I included a backup file which lies in the same folder. If there are any issues move mixer_paths_original.xml to mixer_paths.xml

Sadly it seems like I can't upload the file as I just opened my account on this page. If anyone else is interested in the file - just send me a message and I'll send you the zip file :)

Mic gain for G900F

My first post, hope I didn't do anything wrong :)

Hi, I recently installed Lineage OS 16 for my G900F .. I have tried all the zip files and the only one that worked for me and made some difference was this one: File Type: zip Mic Gain Mod v10.6 (G900FD).zip - Twerp recovery wouldn't open any of the others!

My question: Although there was a noticeable increase in the mic gain, it is still considerably lower in comparison to my G906s (Korea), which has lineage OS 15.1

So, even with file installed, friends are still having trouble hearing me on Whatsapp. I would love to use my G900F with the Lineage OS 16 .. if there's a way to further increase the mic volume.

Thanks for any help

Same issue here, the audio is not the same as stock Samsung.
I think that something is missing, some codec, some proprietary stuff from Samsung that LineageOS and other roms are not able to fix completely.
I've been search for a way to deal it with, have you tried this thread? I think these were the best ones for me.

I got the original files from Galaxy S5 SM-G900M, I'm not sure how to adapt to my phone the values, some are missing in LineageOS Oreo.

Here:
Facing the low record volume with my SM-G900F, although I've noticed that it seems to be a problem with WhatsApp voice recording. The stock recorder of my LOS 16 (use it with GApps pico) seems to have a decent volume. As for a flashable zip, I think we have to wait for someone who is capable of changing the installation scripts by adjusting the paths which seem to have been changed in LOS 16. When that is done, there most probably will be a backup and a micgain zip which we could test.
If anyone reading this can help with it, we'd appreciate it.

low Bluetooth-headset mic volume

Hi everyone,

I have flashed LineageOS 17 on my Samsung Galaxy note 4 N910F and the bluetooth headset mic volume is so low, I can't use my headset to call people on the phone.
The fix in this thread doesn't seem compatible.
I edited the file
Code:
/vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml
but no change.
Should I reflash LineageOS after editing ?

Thanks

Yes you're right thanks. Any idea how to circumvent this problem on my phone ?
I'd search a thread about your phone, make a posting someone made something interesting for S5, give link and tell them you r searching for someone to "port" the mod to your phone?
That's what I would do in your case.
Goodluck :cowboy:
