That's because there is nothing to flash. This is how to add the value that is checked to see if subscribed to hotspot service, it is not patched binaries like other "hotspot mods"

If you have root you can use my one click app located in the themes and apps subforums instead of doing it manually.
Ok thank you lol got confused for a sec

Update to 4.4.4 Kit Kat

I've update to 4.4.4 and now I can't edit APN settings is there another way of doing this or how to unlock APN setting? I've tried Galaxy Tools but that didn't work.

Got native hotspot working on stock rom without root.

See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792790

Get your msl/spc
Dial ##data#
Scroll to bottom and select more
Scroll to bottom and select lte apns
Add dun to apn type for both lte and ehrpd apn's
Profit

apn type field accepts csv so put no spaces
Code:
default,mms,dun
***edit***
If you have root and want to edit the file the apn resides in manually it is
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
Open the database, select carriers, bottom 2 apns add ",dun" and you are good to go!

I have attached working telephony.db with dun already added from my note 3.

Also the apn edit is working on 6 different firmware galaxy devices tested so far. I will test some htc phones in comming days
***edit***

Pictures provided in thread above if you need visuals.
tool to get your msl provided in thread above if you don't want to ask sprint for it.

Enjoy native hotspot everyone.

****edit****
Tested working on sprint s3. Works 100% so this might just be a universal solution for sprint hotspot.. at least it would seem so on galaxy devices!!!

Hey make sure su binary version is 2.02
Use galaxy tools to enable then reboot.

If you rather edit apn manually on 4.4.4 change sales code to XAS and reboot... apns are now editable.

Good luck!

My phone notified me of a profile update yesterday and now I am unable to get the hotspot to work. I edited the apns again and I can click on the hotspot button, but it never appears in the top bar as being on and it is not showing up on other devices. It says I have Android 4.4.2.
Hi,

Go use my app to enable it http://forum.xda-developers.com/not.../app-one-click-hotspot-enabler-menus-t2816159

Wait for "Hotspot Enabled!!" toast and then reboot. Make sure in settings>connections>more networks that your mobile network type is cdma/lte/evdo and look in your apns to be sure either of the 2 internet apns are selected.

Now try turning on hotspot again.

And it is odd you report neither hotspot notification nor subscription error shows up. When you go to turn it on it should give you one or the other.

You are not using an airave are you?

Thank you for the response. Apparently I also changed the network mode to automatic at some point and did not realize that would cause a problem. I have not rooted the phone, so I am guessing the app would not work anyway. I did get it working following the the changes.

Any idea how to do this on a Sprint Galaxy S5 without root?
On current s3 and note 3 msl no longer opens apns editable (I don't have an s5 to see if the same was done)
To bypass this you need root to change sales code, but if you have root you might as well use the app.

Either way if msl no longer opens your s5's apns, root will be needed to enable hotspot.

I didn't see a message sent in my messages so I'll try and send this again. I apologize if you see this twice. Hello, a few months ago I used your native hotspot unlock thread on my note 3, I cant thank you enough for all the free internet!! The problem I'm having now is that on my ps4 it says my internet is NAT type 3 which limits some of my online gameplay. I made a thread about this issue and someone proposed I root the phone and try and go into the router settings. If I do this will your hotspot unlock still work? Here is the thread I'm referencing. If you could help me out I'd appreciate it alot!!

Go get my app GalaxyTools, they block apn editing now, my app will enable hotspot in 1 click and can also unlock apn editing.

Galaxytools doesn't seem to work to enable the built in hotspot anymore.
You can turn it on, but no devices can connect. They see the hotspot but that's it.

That doesn't have anything to do with my app enabling it, that's purely a settings/config issue with the phone.

Mess with your hotspot config and advanced settings and you'll get it working.

If you don't get the subscription nag popup it is for sure activated, now just play with it's config/settings. :)
