hi. sorry in advance, i'm a big noob when it comes to this stuff.

so i installed the cwm and im currently at the red recovery mode screen. I hit the option "reboot system now" and it just goes to a black screen with my softkeys lit up. I'm not sure what to do?

had same issue did a odin cwm recovery all. then reflashed CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09_RED.tar to get a recovery that works.
Thanks all was getting mad at my phone.

Hey Takafiji and everyone who is on nonvoodoo. Adrynalyne released superclean 2.9 today and he included the cwm-recovery-all in it so now we can boot directly to red cwm all, the one without the bitmap error messages on the bottom which is the proper, current working cwm provided by jt1134. I have tried it and it sticks after flashing a rom, even a rom containing a stock kernel. So everybody can now delete update.zip from their sd cards and when you boot to recovery from either the long press power menu or holding down the volume up, volume down, and power buttons, you will boot directly to red cwm. I was already running cwm-recovery-all and just reflashing it in ODIN every time I flashed a new ROM, so anybody currently booting to stock blue recovery, then hitting apply sdcard:update.zip and going to red cwm with the bitmap error messages in white lettering toward the bottom of the screen may need to flash cwm-recovery-all. Not sure though as I have not tested that. This is fantastic news for us nonvooodoo people and we are now all using the same red cwm-recovery-all. Hope this helps.

Is there any way to boot into red recovery from clockworkmod? I can reboot my phone into red recovery by using extended power menu or quickboot app. I would love to try out something that would give me ability to boot into red recovery from clockworkmod.

Sorry for being such a noob but I flashed CWM using odin and when I try to get to cwm by holding both volume up and down keys together and power button it only boots into the blue screen no red cwm, what did I do wrong? I should add that when I try to flash a custom rom it is always failing, I am not sure what rom I am using now but it may be superclean 2.4 nonvoodoo. I should add that I cannot get to any other recovery besides the blue, when I try to do the update.zip it just errors out. I am not really sure what to do right now.

I am stuck on splash screen red recovery and cwm. I have restored my phone about 20 times and the same thing. i guess this is what you was talking about the boot loop from hell.. Can you please help me?

What type of kernel and rom are you using. Just flashed miui, worked just fine. Try a voodoo kernel.

edit: sorry bit off my game, what and how are you recovering your phone, may i recommend dl01, then flash cwm.

Ok again I was a noob so I went the beginning of the thread and read it and downgraded my phone back to stock then rooted it again and using odin applied the cwm update and got back to the red screen, I applied the superfraken clean vs 2.8 but now when it reboots it just goes back to the red cwm screen only .

What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.
