Why do you really care about the custom screen..just curious?
If you do not want it there..return to stock and and do not root.
If you read the thread, you'd see i want OTAs.

As for all the others, if you're gonna pollute a thread that is put up to help other and participate in the development community, might as well get a life right now and start doing something with it. You guys are really pathetic.

Just check if there is an ota and it will tell you right away if you are up to date (then it works) or you are modified

I am rooted, have CWM recovery, device shows shows official, , no "Custom", and OTA response was "Software up to date". Very cool. CASUAL fixed a lot, though that was not my objective.

Removing "lock Custom"

After following all the info (ES file explorer > root explorer> mount R/W> reset all to RW, OK>menu> System> xbin> deleted Busybox> reboot the "lock custom" was still there. No luck.

I went into Titanium Backup and froze "busy box", then uninstalled. Rebooted and WHAMO! No more "lock custom on boot-up!. Worked like a champ!

HOWEVER.... going back into ES file explorer>root explorer>mount R/W, all of the original settings returned, but the "lock custom" is now gone.

Give that a whirl!

If you guys want a permanent solution to this you might want to follow this thread...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303022

There is no particular method yet, but I think the info needed to get a solution will come from the links in this thread about information that has already been revealed by Devs working on the S3. Adding or deleting programs or APKs will not work as a permanent solution, it will take a change in code for that to happen. I am hoping the Devs we have with the S4 can look into this and maybe develop a method that will be safe for the phone and always reveal an "official" status with no unlock icon.

If you used ES to delete busybox successfully, i'm not ure why it appeared in titanium, the whole point is to disable busybox which seems to trigger the System Status scanner

This method seems to work and seems to be permanent in those which it worked. Some people come here and give me crap about this not being permanent, but in all 6 S4s i've tried this on, it was a permanent fix, none of them have been back on custom since then. If this work for you, i'm happy, if it doesn't, i'm sorry. I dont know why it works for some and not others, but i think if it worked for you, and your only goal is to be rooted and official, this is a great way to keep it that way.

So far it is VERY permanent. I have not reinstalled busy box and won't until I need to (bootloader is still locked for now) and for the short term I'm fine with that. I really wanted it rooted to get rid of all the AT&T bloatware and BS apps.
Awesome work Dude! Thanks for the forum and threads! Keep up the good work!
