This Prosess is ONLY USED IN heimdall, for odin use the .md5.tar file as a whole.Sorry for the noob Q, but where are these files (factoryfs.rfs,zimage etc.) that need to be populated into FactoryFS, Kernel etc. ? Are they archived in the Dl09.tar.md5 file? If so, how do I extract them? I tried 7zip, jzip on Win7 x64, but they cannot extract the tar.md5 file. Am I missing something here. Please help.
MY PET PEEVE RANT = I don't know if everyone will agree with me or not but I HATE it when someone posts "Sorry for the noob question". The reason is simple if you have put the time and energy into researching it but don't understand something, it is clearly established on XDA and just about every other site I go to, the more expierenced should help the new or noob. This is not only simple courtesy but it frees up more time for the dev's to work their magic instead of ansewring a bunch of questions that those of us expierenced in Android and Samsung should and probably already do know. Finally it is easier to answer a question and update an OP if necessary than to PM back and forth with someone trying to figure out what went wrong and help them revive their brick. Yeah i know a little preachy but I really beleive it is easier to explain what some will think is a dumb question, although i guarentee you are not the only one with that question, than it is to spend hourd or days trying to help fix a stupid mistake. Absolutely yes, if you don't know and don't ask than when you go and try it and mess it worse than it was. Movinand.bin failed because it isn't on your device now, usually because the devs leave it out on custom or modded roms. You need to DL the pit file from this thread and check repartition if you want movinand.bin. If you are trying to flash back to stock, then you need all the files which require you to pit and repartition your device.
Since you can get DL mode, try Odin now, also make sure you got all programs and files from this thread, as I have tested them to be sure they are good. My best suggestion is to Odin back if you can use Odin and make sure to repartition, that should be flecked automatically when you put the pit file in its slot. Let Odin wipe everything and push a clean rom to your phone. If you do it from heimdall make sure you open The .tar file and load the .bin files inside it. I think at this point a clean full install is probably your best bet. Also if you had cwr, did you turn off or uninstall voodoo, I doesn't like stock roms. Last thought is making sure you use Odin 1.7 it works best for most if not search xda for Odin 1.3 some phones and machines like that one.
I dont remember when but a while back someone was having similar issues and found it was because of some of the settings from the metro pcs set up. The fix was easier than expected all that had to be done was to go into settings and set usb as mass storage or something like that, it turned out to be a usb connection setting, so check that out first, after that odin back to VZW was successful for them on first attempt. Before you do any of that, hopefully you haven't yet here are a few threads to help with getting fascinates to work with metro pcs, please read these first since many have had problems there is some really useful stuff in these I hope they help. Some research may be required on your part but with time, patience, and research if you can put it on an os and have it work, you can take it back off all you need to do is find out how. As far as the Samsung Galaxy Indulge rom the answer is most likely no as it is not everything in the sgs phones are universally compatible. Modification of the rom to make it work properly with the fascinate is probably going to be necessary, but i am not that familiar with the Indulge roms.The fascinate i had was a verizon with bad esn and i bought it bricked for 50$ i used odin to fix it and worked in one try .. i bricked it later on trying to flash other roms and used odin which worked in one try.. Now i took it to metropcs store and i guess they HARD FLASHED it so it can work on their network i wanted to downgrade to 2.1 stosck so i put the rec files and it bricked the phone i tried Hemdail.. Odin and EVERY SINGLE solution they all failed. from 5pm to 6am the following day . Now i think its because the metropcs files are permanently flahsed on the phone and its clashing with the verizon files odin is putting back so it fails. Is there a fix to that? or is it a dead phone.. i think my phone is permanently bricked unless i get someones galaxy flashed to metropcs and some how flash it on mine.. sorta like dumping his files im not sure.. oh and btw can i flash stock Metropcs Samsung Galaxy indulge rom on their? nothing to lose any more
