How to remove autorun.inf

My Honor 10 (I assume like everyone's) has an autorun.inf file in the top level directory which runs Hisuitedownloader.exe every time I plug the phone into my PC. This thing keeps popping up the Windows 10 "what shall I do with this disc" box randomly and over and over again regardless of what I select (usually "don't do anything") - so I would love to remove it. It is read only and I cannot find any way to remove the read only status to delete it. I don't want to root the phone - is there any other way to be rid of this, other than letting it install HiSuite, which is an even bigger PITA.

I've changed those settings in the short term, but that stops things autoplaying that I want to - like my thumbdrive with Portasble Apps on it. What I would really like to do is remove the software from the phone, not tackle the problem at the Windows end. Thanks for the idea though.

Slr first of all i dont think i have autorun.inf in my phone. You can try disabling the autorun for external storage (cmon this is simple) if still don't work. I think you may have virus (hope not)
