It's 2021, anyone still here?

My kid found our old TP and youtube no longer work. So i have decided to follow upgrade here.
I was abled to install kitkat first and fine. Noug failed so i was gonna go back to 4.4.4 but then failed. Tried so many thing now i want to start back from Step 6.

I get this ERROR:
moboot file /boot/uImage.moboot-new exists.
Aborting.

how do i delete or remove the existing moboot?

I'm on 16GB and keeping webOS by the way.

I think it failed to upgrade to Noug due to space.

Youtube and everything else works perfectly fine on the Touchpad on Google supported Android versions 5,6 ,7, 8 and 9 in 2021.
The Tablet can be dual boot with webOS using Android versions 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 and even use the same swap partition as webOS.
The /boot partition is 32MB and will need some manual cleaning to get it work.
You want to keep WebOS, then the Toolbox needs to be use to resized the partitions and create boot with WebOS support.
If you do not want to use WebOS then can use this guide to make it an Android only Tablet ( all data will be lost )

This is the part i'm needing help with.

The other info, i am already aware of. Appreciate the info tho.
If you want to keep webOs then the ToolBox needs to be use to repair Android volumes and install moboot.
moboot can not be remove if the tablet was set up to use Android on WebOS ( dual or single boot ).
moboot allows to select the uImage and boot the OS ( moboot is a boot manager )
If you can boot into WebOS and have a file manager then you can use it to clean up the /boot partition.
The attached screen shot is using internalz Pro in webos showing the content of /boot.

Also using the WebOS recovery any uImage can be loaded it and does not need to be on /boot.
TWRP ( Recovery ) or any recovery can be loaded using a PC with the novacom drivers.
If you know the version of Android and the ROm that is currectly install the uImage of that ROM can be loaded and it will boot into Android.
The Novacom Repair has the drivers built in and allows to load the Toolbox if you do not have it on a PC.
Do not use the Create Boot option, that is only for Android only Tablets.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/hp-touchpad-novacom-repair-android.3960435/

To use the WebOS recovery, press and hold ( Power + volume key ( closer to power key ) at the same time and the tablet will boot with a big USB logo. The connect to PC and load the toolbox or any other uImage.

I dont see file manager available in webOS, you must be using the homebrew app.
Let see if i can find internalz for webOS and get it install
Yes, Internalz is homebrew also wterm, Taylor and cyboot
internalz allows to modify the file system anywhere.
wterm is the terminal, also can be use to modify the file system by commands
Taylor allows to resize the partitions using LVM
cyboot allows to choose the default OS at boot using moboot.
But all those apps are difficult to find and more trouble to install.
The quick and easier way is to load a Recovery onto Memory using novacom drivers.
On a PC with novacom drivers install.
Download:

Click here to download TWRP Recovery 3.2 by Flintman
Extract the uImage.Recovery from the zip file and copy to the novacom folder

The Tablet must be ON with the USB Symbol on the screen. ( webOS Recovery mode )
Connect tablet to PC.
Open a command prompt or terminal window in the directory of novacom and enter the following:

novacom boot mem:// <uImage.Recovery

The Recovery TWRP 3.2 will be loaded into Memory
Mount /boot and delete anything that is not need it.

These are screen captures of the mentioned webOS homebrew apps.

data - 1856M
cache - 256M
system - 2048M

When installation start it failed on installing(copying) moboot.

cp: writing `/mnt/boot/uImage.moboot-new' : no space left on device
ERROR: : cp /usr/tptoolbox/data/moboot /mnt/boot/uimage.moboot-new feiled rc=1

Great, now you can clean /boot using terminal commands.

That is WebOS.
From the files listed on the screen shot none of this should be there and do not belong to WebOS:
moboot.timeout
moboot.default
android.default.recovery
uImage.moboot
uImage.PowerOFF
uImage.Recovery

Keep the files listed minus any others that other installer may have placed in /boot.

moboot gets copy in /boot and there is no space there.
The /boot partition ( fixed size is 32 MB ) it can not be change, use wTerm to clean it.

Thank you it is working now. I'll keep it at kitkat until youtube doesn't work anymore.
Great to know and thanks for the update !
youtube should work for as long as Google supports 9 ( Pie ) which it works very well on the Tablet.
From your set up you can flash Evervolv 7, all works Bluetooth, Camera and WiFi and if the only App you want is youtube then later on flash Pie (9 ). As you have webOS then flashing the HpTp optimized settings with swap will greatly speed up the tablet and use the same swap partitions as WebOS.
An alternative to youtube is :
https://newpipe.net/
There are many options, but with the right settings the tablet is the perfect video or music streaming device.
