Just re-asked this in the General section, this should be left out in Roms.

I would be happy to test it but I don't have anything DRM :(

I thought the whole purpose of that service was to check if you have pirated files, thus meaning if there is nothing to check nothing should go wrong?

[edit] I did exactly what was told and the service still starts up?

[edit2] Okay guys those are the incorrect files to delete, i went into titanium back up and deleted DRM content something (it was the only DRM there after i deleted the two with SDX) i forgot the name of it was going so fast. Can someone do me a favor do what was provided above delete the two files, and tell me which DRM file is left over in titanium back-up? That is the one your suppose to delete. And i restored the other two files, the service still doesn't start up :).

Read my above post please unless when you deleted the two files from SDX, Drm service don't start up again after reboot.

Just tested and it works, doesn't restart after reboot. I'm running Baked Snack 1.0 and MixUp kernel. Haven't tried media hub, i'm not about to spend 2.99 to rent a movie on my phone lol

EDIT: I have only had this working for roughly 10 minutes, and I can already see a significant improvement in battery life. This should be stickied for sure. +Props

It says 'We're sorry, there was an Exception thrown while deleting: Error could not mount /system: Permission denied'

What am I doing wrong?

Means your not rooted(or rooted properly).

You have to be rooted to use the sdx system file remover, and pretty much to use any other method of removing system files.

I have clockwork recovery and am running the andromeda kernel and rom.

I have the NFL verizon app and the alternate 'lock screen'.

How could I not be rooted?

What does this file do? i dont mind deleting it. Just curious of what its purpose is?

SDX Stock App Remover will delete stock .apk files that come preloaded. After install DI07, the MediaHub will be activated as well as the DRM service. This will prevent the DRM from starting automatically as to improve battery life. Just follow the directions.

In Titanium Backup the name of the file is "DRM Protected Content Storage 2.1-update1"
Obviously it will be different if you're on DG27 (will it be there at all?). I can confirm uninstalling this does stop the DRM service from running. I'm going to leave those two .apk files in the OP deleted too just because I don't see a reason to undelete them.

You also need to backup/delete SisoDrmProvider.apk or it will still be active in running services after reboot.

Ever since deleting those two files with sdx and then that other file in titanium I cannot play any of the hd videos I recorded with my phone or any of my drm-less movies I put on my sd card
