[How To] Retrieve MSL and speed up internet faster

I just did this to my 3D. Worked perfectly! Will this work on my wife's Evo Shift? Does it work on pretty much any sprint phone??? And does this impact battery life at all, or should it have any impact on battery life?

Glad to see my old tutorial is still useful. I've been blanking out these settings even on other devices which always have netted increases for me. Even works on my S2.

Nice.. got my msl.. I changed a few things that I have changed on my TP2 and Evo4G like

Enabled USB charging
Slot cycle index to 1 ..delay between phone checking tower for incoming calls.. aka slightly quicker ring time..
ACCOLC to 2 ...priority on tower - set between 2-9 .. 2 is highest.. 1 is for emergency numbers
EVRC-B to enable ....all of the follwing are for supposed better voice quality... can't say I notice a difference..
Home Orig - EVRC-B
Roam Orig - EVRC-B

and..
HTTP Proxy Port to 0
HTTP Proxy Address to 0.0.0.0 .. 3g internet speed increase



Seems to be working great...

accolc is best set at 9. 10-15 are emergency channels.
evrc-b is better than evrc however not all towers support this and theres a potential for missed calls, etc.

TO SPEED UP YOUR INTERNET... instructions from Avalaunchmods (Edited)

1. Get your MSL, by calling Sprint or by using CDMA workshop like i explain below
2. After you have your MSL go to your phone and type ##3282#
3. Click Edit Mode
4. Click Advanced
5. Scroll down to RTSP/HTTP Setting
6. Change RTSP proxy IP to 0.0.0.0 or You can leave this blank if you like
7. Change RTSP proxy Port to 0 (Zero)
8. HTTP proxy IP to 0.0.0.0 or You could leave this blank if you like
9. HTTP proxy port to 0 (Zero)
10.Go enjoy Downloads and a .20-.60 mbps increase in 3G speeds!

*********Original settings if you want to revert back.

Original settings

rtsp proxy ip: rtsp.vog.sprintpcs.com
rtsp proxy port: 554
http proxy ip: pd.vog.sprintpcs.com
http proxy port: 8085

Perhaps a tweak script is already taking care of this for you? I haven't really noticed much benefit in this anyway... plus, mine keeps reverting back.

I think it's a good idea to mention in the OP that owners of Rooted phones can use MSL Reader (on Google Play)

Also, I just had my phone replaced due to screen problems, and it already had the settings in the OP, interestingly.

I called Sprint, they said no problem and asked why, I said to remove the proxies on the phone, and they gave it to me.

LOL. Ironically, if they knew what a proxy was it might have been a different story

For anyone doing this, can you double check to see if your settings stick after a reboot? Mine keeps reverting back. I am on a rooted mean ROM with s-off 1.4 hboot.

2. goto Menu > hardware forensics > port utils > QC + AT -cmd

3. select your port of HTC

4.goto CODE

5. hit HTC : Unlock SPC

6. Hit Change SPC
