Works perfect for VRoot - after hours of YouTube videos and other methods that all failed - this is the only solid way I found to get the chinese SU pulled and over to SuperSU without a glitch!!!!

Thanks Much - truly appreciated!!!!

Sorry if this has been covered already in the thread, but is there a breakdown of how much space I'm "wasting" by having more than one ROM set up on my phone? I am used to having just one, from when I unlocked by Note 2 and just ran Jelly Beans. I'm well accustomed to rolling with 20-some GB out the gate with a 32 GB phone (basically many GB taken up by system files), but not sure what having both stock and Jelly Beans on my Note 3 takes me down to.

And thanks so much for the thread!

If I understand your question, if you are booted into slots 1-4 your avail memory will read inaccurately. Using a file explorer will give you accurate mem reading and access to all your mem and so will running only on stock slot.

I was referring to how as soon as I booted into Jelly Beans ROM on my Note 3, all my apps re-downloaded and installed. Does that mean I have 2 instances (and thus double the memory space being used by) of some of these 100-500MB games on my phone? Granted, I can easily live without many of them!

If you are talking about Google installing your apps on boot up (if you have it set to do that) it is a normal function.

Kingo as become so popular that their servers are hit and miss when rooting. If you're following the OP (sounds like you are) try Vroot. I haven't used it, but everyone who has had issues rooting with Kingo has tried Vroot and rooted right away, with no issues.

Kingo took me 3 tries. You can also try using diff USB port, rebooting pc, and lastly download ROOT CHECKER and see if you have root even though Kingo says root failed. SEVERAL users have reported getting ROOT FAILED but having full root and going on to flash custom roms with no issues...

Let me know what you find out! Good luck.

I see this has been an issue for others on the Safestrap thread and that you have notes of it I missed in the OP. Sorry I didn't check more into it before! The issue being once you create a new slot, you have to set the memory for the partitions of that ROM. Going with the default amounts seems to be too constraining, as I have not been able to install all the apps on Jelly Beans that I had on my stock ROM due to lack of space errors. I will back up the stock ROM, clear both the stock ROM slot and the slot I created for Jelly Beans, then re-install JB in the stock ROM slot.

I am unable to see how to delete the ROM in the stock slot. So i simply chose the stock slot when installing Jelly Beans. Looks like I installed it OVER my stock ROM, as once I booted up Jelly Beans all my apps/wallpaper/system settings were just as I had them on stock. I was expecting to have to set up JB again and restore all my apps from the backups I made with Titanium...I had to do this when I first booted it from slot 1 after installing it there.

It made things quick and easy, but I wonder if I missed a step.

Always wipe before flashing a room over another rom.

You only delete slots 1-4. Stock slot can only be wiped and flashed over.

You highlight the slot you want to flash to, create, activate, or wipe.

To flash daily driver in Stock slot, backup stock rom (optional) wipe slot, flash new rom.

For some reason I can't get this to work. Got the phone from someone and it's on MJE. I have unknown sources checked, USB debugging checked, the samsung drivers installed, and I've accepted the little prompt to remember my computer. I've tried both Kingo and VRoot and both fail repeatedly at different USB ports even after rebooting both the device and the computer. Any ideas?

Display on device set at 10 min? PC anti virus disabled? Good Internet connection?

If yes to all those and still no go: strongly consider flashing MJE TAR file in Odin. When all else fails, start back at step one.
