Guys I really need help...I just got a note 3 and not familiar with it at all I just updated to the latest ota uodate upon unboxing. Its all stock yet and I cant find valid links to the software. I really wanna get this rooted
My new Note 3 is being delivered today. Did yours try force installing the ota immediately after activation or did you choose to install the ota? If it tries to automatically install the ota, will I be able to stop it so I can root?

Anybody rooted lately? I've rooted all my previous phones. I've had the note3 for several months now but just now hitting the forum to get all the procedures down. I've been trying for a few days with this Kingo app but get constant failures. I read where it says the latest version is known for having issues but linking to the older version still installs the latest for some reason. I tried Vroot and got root but never can get supersu to download its library or whatever it is. And then on reboot, I no longer have root. I assume because supersu disables the chinese stuff in the process. I wasn't too terribly concerned about it since I've waited this long, until now since I'm reading about this update coming out. I'd like to squash it before its too late.

BTW, I'm running MJE

Yes, you're lucky to have not taken the OTA so right now go do it. I have Kingo 1.6 and it works on MJE though I did find once that I had to try a couple of times for it to take. There is a link to 1.6 earlier in this thread.

Yeah I also used the link and for some reason it seems to update. Every time I downloaded it would end up being 1.2.2.

In OP is a link to my dev host acct with kingo 1.1.5 and 1.1.6. Look for the 'here' link

Every step needed to go from 4.3 rooted to 4.4 rooted is in the NC2 link in my sig.

Just got my note 3 today. Does this method still work? Also, it keeps trying to download software update, and I have to keep killing it. Is that normal? Also my phone came with MJE. Do I need the step of flashing MJE with odin? coming from note II, so this is all new to me. Thanks in advance for any help.

DO NOT accept the update. You will be screwed. You're okay on mje for now. Just get it rooted and stop the update. Everyone here can walk you through the rest of it.

If you're on MJE, then you can just root. If you screw things up, you'll learn to Odin to MJE quickly.

I have Kingo 1.1.6 and when it wants to go update, I let it. It's still on 1.1.6 after the update. Once rooted, I don't spend 5 seconds on that MJE. I get SafeStrap going and never come back.

This is what I'm getting too. Even when downloading the older version in the OP. After uninstalling the 1.2.2 version from the website and then installing the 1.1.5 in the OP's link, it says the version is right back to 1.2.2. Not sure if this is something that Kingo has done on purpose or what. But it seems to have shut the operation down for now. Anyone know a workaround?

Make sure you uninstall kingo 1.2 from your pc first, then open kingo 1.1.6 app from OP. I ran 1.1.6 to be sure it worked before I added it to d-h...

I used uninstall from the kingo start menu folder and then verified in the control panel uninstall screen. And also deleted what appeared to be an empty folder left over in program files. Any idea why/where a trace of the 1.2.2 would be and how to get rid of it? Somehow it must be lingering for some of us even though we attempt to uninstall
