Downloaded your suggested file but when I click on pit it does not recognize the file?

You shouldn't need the PIT file unless you had partition issues.

If you do use it, make sure it goes in the PIT field abovevthe AP/PDA field.

Did you extract the file from zip?

I'm new to this. I joined because I foolishly accepted the Verizon Note 3 KitKat update and I'm trying to back to the previous release. It broke the text reflow on my browser and emails, which is 75% of what I do. I went from loving my phone to not even carrying it with me and going back to a Sprint S/3.

Do you think anyone will develop a technique to let me go back from KitKat? If you think someone will figure a way to do this, is there a forum or thread I should monitor to catch when/if it happens?

As of now, it doesn't look like devving a workaround for NC4 is going to happen soon. The locked bootloader has tempered the desire to try and unlock the vzw note 3.

You might be better off selling the NC4 Note 3 and buying a MJE or NC2 Note 3

Flash MJE in Odin, root with Kingo (see my Root thread for kingo 1.1.6) or vroot, install SS 3.65, flash cust 4.3 rom.

There may be a quicker more short cut way, but this will remove everything NC2 related.

Just follow the 'how to root note 3' and 'Odin' links in my sig.

Remember DO NOT TAKE VZW OTA NC4

It's incremented so you can NOT go back to 4.3 as you can with NC2 LEAK

They sent me the new Note 3 with mje on it just as I insisted no problem.

I'm ready to get busy. .. Not gonna screw up this time..... point me to some trouble free instructions az and thanks in advance. ..

When I downloaded file for the second time it did not open as a file to extract. That is why it did not see it. I can't seem to download this as a file. It appears as a white paper on my computer? Is there another site I can get this file from that might work. I have not had this problem before? I am getting only 1.28GB. I am trying download using explorer. I used Chrome 2X

I couldn't find anywhere in any of my OPs that said NC3. Copy and paste it here so I can fix the error.

I am not sure which file you are d/l and not able to extract. Please specify the file and the link you are using. Periodically I try all the links in my threads for dead links and a few days ago, they all d/l properly with working files.

az.... Don't mean to be a pest but I'm not all clear on the SS 3.65 verses SS 3.72...I know that I used SS 3.65 on the mje to 4.3 but I'm seeing that SS 3.72 as being the one to use with KK.

With that being said. It's not possible to flash multiple roms on SS 3.72 at the moment?

Went to your link. Downloaded from your instructions. Its downloading again and I am trying on 2 computers. I will give you site information and details when it finishes. I am not disturbing anything. On your instructions to install with odin it says the NC3 only after you give the site for the download of MJE. Check it out on your guide. I will paste and send you what you asked for in a few minutes.

Guys I foolishly accepted the OTA to 4.4.2 on my Verizon Note 3. I tried to search the forum for an answer but I might have missed it. I was not rooted, but I want to root my phone. Is there a way to root the Verizon Note 3 after the OTA at the moment?

You only unzip/extract from a .zip file. The 7z file you flash as is.

I used the 7z file in the MJE tar link. I'm not sure what the 7z file looks like once d/l, but try just selecting the 7z file from the AP slot in odin.

I tried the 7z file from ap and it did not see it. I just tried MJE from the other site and the same thing is happening the Verizon white screen is stuck. I am taking out battery and rebooted again.
If I am not using the right file please tell me. I am a little confused right now. Do I need two different files? I downloaded the file I showed you site is that file right. It is not in a zip file it is a tar file. But odin does not see it.
Tried it again and odin does not see that file. Maybe I need to call verizon and do an emergency firmware update. I will tell them the phone is stuck in verizon window while using kies to update? I will tell them that I do not want kk because my bluetooth won't work with it.

I am willing to try anything you suggest first.

Yeah I did the same thing. No there is no way to root and from the sounds of it they locked it does pretty tight. Devs have pretty much given up for the short term.

Idea is to complain to vzw and tell them to trade you a note for one with 4.3 on it.

I have tried everything. Do'n t like KingoRoot either but hell it worked on my old note3 of course i was using 1.1.6 when I rooted it. Had to replace it, Screen goofed up. So I'm like so many others trying to get root on 4.3 with no good root application or Verizon has sneaked something in the replacement phone that causes it not to take root.

Yeah a lot for people have said they had same problems with later versions of Kingo. Someone has a link here for 1.1.6 and that might work.

I rooted mine by using kingo and then vroot and changing the vroot superuser to chainfires worked flawlessly but had a random Chinese/ Japanese app that would install itself right after I Uninstalled it, but a simple soft Uninstall took it away for good, easiest root I've ever preformed and not a single problem so far

They also said I do not have to take any update to KK. It is not automatically sent to my phone it is through kies. I am happy right now that the phone is working.

Unfortunately OTA'd

I just found out my Verizon Note 3 was previously rooted because it has SuperSU (Chainfire v 1.94) App installed. I did not know this because I bought it from craigslist. Is there a way to get root back? I did do the OTA update unfortunately.
I wanted to know if there is a way to get rid of SuperSU app so I can return the phone to Verizon?
Or
Am I able to return the phone to Verizon the way it is meaning with the SuperSU app? I did check knox Warranty Void it's still set to 0x0, Knox Kernel Lock 0x0.
Any help is appreciated.

If kingo 1.1.5 or 1.1.6 (look in OP for link) try vroot.
