I am on OTA NC4 do I have to flash the NC2 kernal via odin? Also can I use any rom that I choose instead of the alliance or baja roms?

I believe you can flash any cust roms built on the NC2/NC4 base. Flashing back to NC2 only allows you the opportunity to go back to MJE. But this is ONLY good if you are NOT NC4 OTA. I believe once on NC4 OTA there is only the chance to root, but NOT revert to MJE using NC2.

I have purchased a NIB Verizon Note 3 on ebay, that is still on 4.3.
I've been googling, reading and searching on xda, for a couple days, in preps of root.
The links to MJE tar file and links for the same, on other threads, are all dead. This worries me greatly. This file is needed to get up to 4.4.2, in order to use Towelroot, it seems. Where can I find that .tar?
Also, I have found a couple sources that claim Towelroot will work on Verizon Note 3 N900v with 4.3. I cannot figure a way to confirm without simply trying Towelroot.
Are there any dangers to simply trying Towelroot on 4.3?

It'll probably work...but were it me, I'd wait till I had 4.4.2 installed. Do NOT install 4.4.4 or 5.0 you will lose the ability to root and can not go back to anything lower than 4.4.4!

I also have been reading up on SAFEROOT. Which is supposed to root 4.3
Are you familiar with it?

It's been a while since I inventoried my dev-host account, but I believe EVERYTHING you need to root and get up to the latest KK, and some of the newest LP roms , is in my dev-host file (link in my sig)...

Several Note 3 guys are still running the last version of Alliznce build 2 (KK) because it is freakin awesome and there's not much that LP can offer us to make it worth the ONE WAY trip to LP with our Note 3s...
