How to root android pie 8.0.1 nvidia shield TV 16gb 2017

i actually do think that the dev image contains the latest hotfix though, which makes it the same as 8.0.1.
You can check this in the about section on the shield, down in the bottom "shield android tv sw version"
type the numbers here

Might actually be because of that.
If you flash the Recovery image 8.0.0 you should get the update to 8.0.1

So If I already have root on 8.0.0 image, how do I get 8.0.1 update?

Flash recovery back to stock?
Let update OTA to 8.0.1
Then flash recovery back to twrp?

I just flashed stock, and you're right, I did update to 8.0.1 but after rooting, WiFi won't turn on
