Which method did you use to root?
And was your BL locked (not unlockable) to begin with?
Thanks
i unlocked my bootloader flashed a custom kernel then a superSU.zip; later flashed the stock kernel... and done that is
if you bootloader is unlockable u must wait while develpers from here create a way to root with your status...
cheers...

I am quite happy that no one managed to root unlockable phones. The only way to do that is to exploit a security hole. And if xda-devs can make use of it, people with bad intention maybe also could exploit a security weakness, for example by spreading modified apps in the play store.

So it's quite logical that all phone manufacturers try to keep the unlockable bootloader unlockable, except for their way to unlock it.
Thats why I don't buy phones from a carrier.

Had you been, you wouldn't have been here my friend.
?!?

I didn't buy my phone from a carrier because I wanted to get root and modify some things.

It's a pity that carriera are getting special firmware versions. Locked bootloader scares off many users, and many different firmwares slow down the update process for a new android version.

3.- Conectarse a red wifi.
4.- Ir a Centro de Actualizaciones del móvil, e instalar la actualización*10.4.B.0569, (mas conocido como actualización vía OTA), el celular se reinicia conservando el root.

I have a c6505 with a locked bl, that cant be unlocked. I had 4.2 rooted via doomlords method, changed the build using build prop to update via companion to 4.3 journalists build. I lost root with the upgrade and am missing it alot .. Just wondering how kingo root method differs from doomlords method. Just wondering if rolling back to 4.2 journalists build try this kingo method that the other member used, and try update through companion again. How does ota differ from companion update?

Sup Guys!!

I'm with the same problem, ZL version with 10.4.B.0.569 (4.3), and wanting to root!!

There are some posts saying to just downgrade root then upgrade, some says the same but talks about "TA backup" and without it some phone funcions such as Bravia Engine stops work, and there's even the locked/unlockable boodloader.

How do i know which one of those is my boodloader ??

How do i make my "TA backup"?? What heapens if I don't do'it???

Why root?? There are a lot of bloatware that i can't remove and access some system files (restore data backup from some apps)

Sorry about the extensive post, but I'm new in Xperia "world"... Always used Samsung Cellphones (S -> S2 -> S3).

Unlocking your bootloader allows you to flash different kernels. On phones provided by carriers bootloader iften is locked, so you can't install a new kernel. Unfortunately, recovery is stored in the same partition, so installing a recovery doesn't work that easy with stock kernel. But NUT has developed a dual recovery that also seems to work with locked bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567266

You can check if you can unlock your bootloader by dialing
*#*#service#*#*
in your dialing app. Service menu will open. Navigate to service info - configuration. There you can see if you can unlock your bootloader.

If you can do that, check out this thread before unlocking:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
With this tool you can save your TA partition, on whick your DRM keys arw stored. If you choose to lock your bootloader again, you can.use it to restore TA, so the bravia engine will work again.

Edit: you might want to check this, it's a good guide to get started:

Yeah man i can unlock it... i don't have a carrier :D the problem now is to find the right drivers for windows 8.1 x64 :/ and i'm not finding the ADB driver for the usb debugging to work...

Any idea.. or links for the right driver??

I'm looking in the links that u posted too, and what i see is that i have to go back to 4.2 root than make TA backup then flash the 4.3 rooted than again flash back the TA backup is that correct?!?!?
