How to root I9195? S4 Mini?

Good to hear. :)

Can someone clone a partition for me? I accidentally wrote to the wrong partition while I was working on the recovery, but luckily it wasn't one of the more important partitions, or else it might have been bricked now. I don't know exactly what this partition is used for, but a good copy of it would be nice just in case.

So if someone that's rooted can do the following from adb shell, that would be nice.

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/sdcard/pad.img (the 0 in mmcblk0p8 is a zero)
Zip the pad.img file, and attach it here or upload it somewhere where I can download it. Thanks. :)

Hahahah I don't get this device, so I will thank you for any of your help in W forums since I'm noob at first time when I meet you (remember when you active at xda, when cowithgun still working amazing things and suddenly he's dissapearing like ghost) and now I learn and learning things at least I'm not a total noob like 1 years before LOL :D you'll get S4 mini right?

S4 Mini...maybe but no price tag yet in my country...Sammy being secretive..CWG Aka Cow has bought a Nexus4.

Am looking for something with a bigger screen..

Enough is said well for the S4 Mini users watch out for arco68 release...Gonna ROCK ! :cool:

Now we have root I'm hoping we can see a volume hack to allow an increase in the headphone volume

Being partially deaf it is one thing I always look at doing and have managed on my S3 and S4. So hopefully S4 mini will come along soon.

1.Turn off the phone.
2.Press and hold home, volume down and power. Download screen should appear.
3.Connect USB cable, and press volume up.
4.Start Odin, uncheck "F. Reset Time", and then click PDA button.
5.Select "GT-I9195_MF5_870901_kernel.tar.md5" file, and press Start button. The phone will reboot when finished.
6.After boot is finished, power off your phone and repeat step 2 and 3.
7.In Odin, click PDA button and select "recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.3-serranoltexx.tar.md5" file, and press Start button.
8.After boot is finished, power off your phone.
9.Press and hold home, volume up and power. Phone will boot into recovery. When you exit recovery, it will ask if you want to root the device. Select yes.
10.All you need to do now, is to download the Superuser app from the Play Store, and you're set!


one question remaining

7 is updated now..... but for step 7 .... do we need to uncheck F. Reset Time as well ?

all went well, installed ok...installed superuser,

got error message that insecure file loaded ...
the fix for that:

remove the three KNOX files in system/appz with es explorer
