Ok, I have a couple of questions.

One, does anyone know of any custom roms for the phab 2 PLUS ...at all....any?

also, is twrp only temporary for the phab 2 plus? and if so, why and is there any other way around having it only temporarily?

and..is anyone aware of any new developments on rooting methods or recovery, roms for this device?

Finally got my phab 2 plus yesterday... Rooted it using freakerz package. Thank you so much. I just had a question...

Anyone know what system apps are safe to remove or freeze?

Securityit seems to be annoying and I would love to remove it.

Just don't want a bootloop or brick situation.

Anyone freeze or delete securityit?

Also the constant asking to install the Lenovo app store... Can I stop that without installing it?

Did you loose your IMEI completely? Even the sticker at your box/carton?

Did you follow this instruction?

Much Props !

Man, it took me 3 days surfing and trying different methods. Yours "Is The Only One that Worked":)
I finished rooting in about 15 minutes. Thanks Bruh, you're a life saver!

TWRP install error FAILED (remote: invalid kernel address: not lie in memory)

Hi,

I'm not able install TWRP on PB2-670M

c:\Temp\TWRP\tools>fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
target reported max download size of 134217728 bytes
sending 'recovery' (14184 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.148s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.368s]
finished. total time: 1.517s

It looks OK, but twrp is not installed

I tried

c:\Temp\TWRP\tools>fastboot boot twrp.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.147s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: invalid kernel address: not lie in memory)
finished. total time: 1.163s

but it finished with error

I solved it. My mistake.

Hello, again. I just wanted to share what I went through recently. maybe someone can lend more info about this as well, because I suspect it might not be the best route to fixing this problem because it was just a little too easy. I have the lenovo phab 2 plus, i guess it's the chinese model/software. a while back, i had some issues with it and it led me to doing a wipe and a rom flash...i thought. i thought, i had twrp on it, so i could go about the flash as i would any other device i have here- nope. it ended up bootlooping it and i seen i lost twrp recov as well. so i went into the whole root process again, and looked up how to do the install of the rom and i used the 670m. again, naively assuming that all would be fine now that it was running, the rom seemed to take fine. nope, lost imei(INVALID IMEI). so after trying many apps that said they could mask imei and thinking that could help my problem, i thought the only way to go about it would be some method using a pc and all that. However, by chance, i tried one last application Ghost Phone by Alex Mits(you can find it on the play store as well). this application WRITES the imei in the file that it needs to be in- doesn't just mask it. Surprisingly, it worked. my issue was not being able to use mobile data, texts and calls were fine even with invalid imei. now i see my carrier and imei in sim nfo and imei nfo and data works fine. no more invalid imei. now, i know this is an old thing to post on but maybe it'll help someone IF this is actually a good method to correct the problem. not sure if anything else needs to be done on the phone that this application may not have fixed but just thought I would share this and see if it goes anywhere.
