Only way is to downgrade to lollipop and use kingroot for rooring
To update without loosing root use flashfire

Preparation:-

Charge Your Device .
Backup Phone Apps,Contacts, SMS .
Enable developer options .
Go To Settings -> About Phone -> Tap On “Build Number” 7 Times To Enable Developer Options.


Enable USB Debugging .
Go To Your Settings -> Developer Options -> Tick The “Usb Debugging” Checkbox .
Enable OEM Unlock .
Go To Your Settings -> Developer Options -> Tick The“Oem Unlock” Check box
Install Lenovo Adb Fastboot Driver -> Link ADB.Driver.Installer.v2.0.exe search it from google and
Download and unzip “K5-K5-Plus-Twrp3.0-Root.zip” .

Instruction To Install Twrp 3.0 on Vibe K5 & K5 Plus :-

Step 1 ->Download and unzip “K5-K5-Plus-Twrp3.0-Root.zip”

Step 2 -> Go to “K5-K5-Plus-Twrp3.0-Root” folder And Open Cmd There By ⇓⇓⇓

Hold Shift + Mouse Right On The Folder then click open command windows here
adb fastboot cmd - Guide To Install TWRP Recovery And Root Lenovo Vibe K5 & K5 Plus

Step 3 -> Connect your phone to pc Now type or paste this commands to cmd windows then hit enter .

adb reboot bootloader


That will turn your phone into fastboot mode if the command not working then try to go manually by press and hold Volume Up + Power Then Select Bootloader .
Then flash twrp recovery Via This Bellow Command .
fastboot flash recovery twrp-k5-3.0.2-r1_shreps.img
If You Want to install Twrp for temporary to root the device then use this command
fastboot boot twrp-k5-3.0.2-r1_shreps.img
Then Reboot Your Phone Normal Mode Via This Bellow Command
fastboot reboot

Copy “UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip” to Your phone .
Turn off your phone .
Turn on Your Phone Into Recovery Mode By Hold (Volume Up +Down + Power) .
Or Turn On Recovery Mode By adb Command

Still there's no way to root Vibe K5 Note... Its so sad to say tht it doesn't suite for XDA. It ws not the way how XDA was...
