Sorry for the confusion. I edited it to say my other guide (my other guide is for custom recovery and custom rom).. through this guide is fine. Don't root through Odin, root using the NE6 kernel and towelroot like it says and you'll be ok with Knox.
Ah, OK. I'll odin full stock NF4 then will follow the process listed here. I'll provide update soon.

Thanks for the instructions and quick reply!

If I'm already on rooted NF1 with towelroot, is there a way to do OTA update to NF4 while preserving root? Or am I required to follow the steps with Odin? If so, can I do it with Mobile Odin like I did for NF1 (Knox 0x0)? Thanks

Mobile Odin Pro doesn't update the bootloader, so you're not on full NF1. There are other phone apps that will update the boot loader but you didn't mention using them.

You can try the root preserving apps. You choose the preserve root option, then unroot and take the OTA, then attempt root again with said app. They don't always work.

My guide will keep knox 0x0 and you will update to the full NF4 including the boot loader. It will take about 5 minutes after you download the files (even if you're unfamiliar with desktop Odin.. it's very simple). There's little that can go wrong, so I would suggest this method to everyone.

Perfect

B E A Utiful. I've rooted every device i've had up until the Note 3. Was a little apprehensive with all the knox stuff and the cost of the phone. This was super easy and worked exactly as advertised. Now I can transfer between internal and external memory and get rid of those ridiculous boot up/shut down sounds etc...

Thanks for your work.

I haven't tested it yet, but I will later today. I'll let you know.
Alright awesome thanks! I am currently still on NB4, but i was about to do a complete restore today, and decided I would check here and saw there was an update, so I figured i'd wait until this method (or another) works on NF9 to root before doing the restore ahah

Im honestly not the best at all this. I used to root with my OG Droid but stepped away for awhile.
I rooted my Note 3 when I got it and I tripped the Knox. If I do this method it will reset it to 0x0?

If you ask any question please explain what it is you are asking for so I know where to look
Im assuming the whole NF9 and all that is referring to the baseband?
My baseband is N900TUVUCNB4
My Model is SM-N900T

With this information I gave you, am I able to follow you guide step by step and be ok?

Reason I'm doing this is ... I cracked my screen but I am fed up with the whole "Your Wifi Connection is unstable"
I'm hoping to get a replacement but I have a 0x1, and I also have a cracked screen so I hope this will work.

I know I read the unstable wifi is a known issue, anyone know if its been fixed?
