I cant get past the "no binary update" error. I've rooted this way a few times and never had a problem. I'm trying to root stock ND8.

I've updated SuperSU and also tried to clear cache and data for the app and that didn't help. I re-flashed everything a second time and still get the same error. (root checker says I don't have root access)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

****** Update

After the OP was updated with the 1.93 Supersu I reflashed it and it works fine now.

Ok successfully got rooted and custom recovery with sprint package (thanks for the resources) but I'm a little in the dark on the Knox boot loader.. I unpacked brand new L710, i pushed recovery file, booted recovery, flashed samsung knox remover, then flashed supersu, Rebooted, root checked, removed safe bloatware with cleaner without it messing up. What can I do now having knox in the bootloader and what not. Any info on knox preroot and after root knox cleanup. I think flashing kernels/kernal modding is unlikely without brick?

You can do anything but downgrade your firmware and modem (Odining to a version before ND8). We already have a custom kernel, KToonsez's in the Original Development section. You can flash/nandroid older ROMs as well, just not the firmware.

Please check the download files

Dropbox says there is an error, too much traffic and they've shut you down. Anywhere else you've posted them?

You have 2 choices. You can stay on 4.3 or upgrade to 4.4(stock tar through odin only for less hassle instead of the ota). Both work with sprint package root. From either 4.3 stock d2spr or 4.4 stock d2spr. Sprint package is odin 07, knox/bloatremover, philz recovery 6.00.8 d2spr, super user zip, and supers update zip. Look up mk3(4.3)/nd8 (4.4) debloater deknoxer zip, full recovery stock 4.4 tar( L710VPUCND8_L710SPRCND8_L710VPUCND8_HOME tar file), philz recovery 6.00.8 d2spr tar file. To root on 4.3 open odin 07, load philz 6.008 tar, untick reboot, plug phone in with download mode on, after md5 check click start. Once finished pull battery boot into recovery ( vol up home and power, opposite of download mode) flash deknoxer/de bloater zip to get rid of security issue, then flash super user zip, then flash supersu update zip. Reboot normally. Make sure s upersu is the latest version. Root check and enjoy :) I did this process for both 4.3 stock and 4.4 stock, except on 4.4 I had to load the recovery in the boot loader slot instead of pda in odin and it worked. Works with sprint boost and virgin.

Question. I already have super su install in the phone. If I flash just the deknoxer zip file will it work? Or would I have to go through the whole process of rooting. Also I can't download the bundle files from drop box. Is there another source where I can download the package files to proceed with this root method?

Question. Supersu is already install in the phone but shuts down due to the security. Do u think that I could just flash the deknoxer zip file and it would possibly work or I have to go through the whole root method in order for it to be a success. Also where can I get the bundle package file for this root method? On this thread I can download the files I need (philz recovery, super su and the update) I do have the deknoxer zip file but can't retrieve the rest. I appreciate all the help your giving me

Super user installed? You need to flash deknoxer.zip then flash superuser/supersu update.zip in recovery, reboot, root check. If not rooted try updating through google play. Just search for superuser.zip supersupdate.zip and/desamsungizer/deknoxer.zip if you can find hope this helps

You had the security issue because you need to flash recovery through odin with out auto reboot ticked. Boot into recovery flash items then reboot normal then it should work

Look up odex/deodex mk3/nd8 tether mod. I had the mk5 virgin, boost Sprint and virgin s3s can update to 4.4.2 nd8 stock tar through Odin. Mirrors are down for the moment.

To root the phone download Odin the the computer and download chainfire root zip if you're YouTube it it will give you the links for the downloads and walk you step by step on how to root it.. DO NOT DO THE OTA SYSTEM UPDATE TO 4.4.2.. YOU WILL LOOSE ROOT. AND THE SAME METHOD WILL NOT WORK ANYMORE.. EVEN WHEN IT SAYS PASS YOU ARE STILL NOT ROOTED AND NO SUPERSU..

Just wanted to say this was my go to thread for when I bought my first galaxy s3. I've been rooting/modding since the LG Optimus V came out(indestructible phone lol) and this thread got me back on track when I acquired the unfamiliar knox bootloader. You guys rock!
