Just got my note 3 replaced at work. And Im crazy about viper4android so i rooted while helping customers. Their was no methods to root 4.4.4 so i downloaded kingo root just to see if it would work. It did and did a awesone job! Once downloaded the app downloaded a new update. Ive used kingo root before never have i seen it do what it did for me today. Once connected it did the download for the root process which usually reboots the device 2 times then its done. This time it installed a kingo recovery systemwhich then auto dedected my device and os version once detected it injected cfroot and reinstalled stock recovery. saddly no option to choose twrp or my fav phills. Rebooted no trip of counter checked for root and profit 4 minutes or so super fast no fuss.

Very pleased i didnt have to redownload odin or anything else besides my recovery of choice and roms :)

Hope this helps i would recommend this for anyone new or veteran.

I am Knox tripped so it doesn't matter to me but can you get a pic of your Knox counter just to prove it didn't trip. If this is the case it's the first confirmed case of 4.4.4 rooted without Knox being tripped.

Make sure to odin NH7, boot make sure everything works.
then root, whether you use CF-Auto root or just odin a recovery and then flash supersu.zip 2.02
then boot to make sure everything is ok - then backup

can you put the link for the hotspot, I tried to find it but couldn't. Is it for NH7 or NC5?

I odined back to NH7 and left it at that. (I had lost the trust of the individual for being stuck at that point for an hour while I downloading the ROM, (slow internet). I wasn't going to press the point.

This one maybe?

It doesn't mention anything about NH5 or NH7 so I'm not sure. thanks for the help though.

Rooting Galaxy Note 3 with Android 4.4.4

Hello Everyone! I'm new here and excited to be among you. I need some serious help as this is the first time I'm doing something like this lol.

After a long internal debate, I decided to go ahead and root my Sprint Galaxy Note 3. I've followed this thread for the past couple of days and have a general sense of what needs to be done but still need some guidance.

I don't have a PC and will be using a public computer at a library to do the root and only have about an hour to do it because the computer usage is timed. I humbly ask for a step by step guide to rooting the phone from start to finish. Do I download and flash the recovery software first or the rooting software then the recovery? Lol, it's obvious that I'm lost. I downloaded the latest version of KitKat(4.4.4, NH7) and its the Sprint Galaxy Note 3. What's the best rooting and recovery software to use?

What I'm hoping to accomplish is by rooting the phone, I can remove all of the bloat ware and install apps I can use plus speed up my phone. Ultimately, I want to actually be able to get a 4g lte signal in my area. Sprint says I should be getting a full signal(4g lte) and I should according to their "coverage map"(eye roll) but I onky get 3G and I'm in a metro area and two of their towers are a quarter mile from my home. I'll get into that on another topic. Can someone please help? Thank you in adavance.

P.S. What a good app for using a hotspot after rooting and is good for connecting to a Playstation 3 for online gaming?

Hey King,

While I cannot help with the rooting, I can suggest an app for gaming with the Playstation 3. I personally use Easy Tether (quick Google, I am still new and cannot post links) I paid 5 bucks on Amazon, I think it's originally 9.99. It's one of the few apps I actually paid for, I used it back when I had an EVO 4G, and an S3, it's really easy to set up just follow the instructions on their website. You can get the app from Google Play or the site. I had very little lag issues, at the time I was using it in the land of dial-up, seriously people still had dial up in that area. It does require some tweaking with your internet settings on a PC. Although I just realized you're using a public computer, as far as I know there was no way to directly link the phone to your PS3, although I'm sure someone on here has found a way, or a quick google search. I figured this could be a backup option in case you ran into problems sharing the wifi!

Here is a link that should answer all your questions http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/samsung-note-3-rom-flashin-basics-t2896440 as for internet I use WiFi Tether Router best $ 2.50 I ever spent. Or you can go here and get free Hotspot http://forum.xda-developers.com/not.../app-one-click-hotspot-enabler-menus-t2816159 Enjoy !!!

Another "no tripping" question (like Iceburgh71)

I have a new (Sprint) Note3: N900P, NH7, Kitkat 4.4.4, and I'm basically interested in the same info that Iceburgh71 asked about. I've rooted every other phone I've had (thanks to XDA developers), but since this phone is new and I need to consider if I may have to take it back in for anything, I'd prefer a way to root it without tripping the Knox warranty counter. Has anyone had luck doing that with a Sprint Note 3 as of this date, with the recent updates?
If not, is there any way to flash back to stock that also resets the Knox counter to 0x0, so I'd be safe one way or the other?
Thanks,
JT
