Great thanks! I'm still not sure if I want to root or not. I will be using this phone for work and they have a no rooting policy due to security risks. The other part of me says "how would they ever know?" :D
Most security policies will make it impossible to connect to your email if the device is insecure. But, being insecure, you can in many cases fake that status or disable the security policy on your device. It depends on how your company set it up. I run our email server and am rooted, and Office 365 (Exchange) has never prevented me from connecting my device to my email, without me having to change any settings or lie (to myself) about my device's status.

Thanks! I'm actually getting the Note 3 tonight and then am getting set up at my employer next week, so I think I should probably hold off then until I get set up. At least then when I take it home after getting the security PIN from my employer, I can root and if it doesn't work, I'll revert back.

What kind of email system does your workplace use?

I'm having this same issue, I'm able to get out of the boot loop but SUperSU never installs. I haven't taken the OTA yet so I'm still on 4.3, I think I got the most recent file from Chainfire's site, any suggestions?

I am still on 4.3 on my note 3 and this root is not working. It hangs up after it reboots, I then have to do a battery pull to restart it. Is there an updated file that I need to use, I can't seem to find it. My phone is sprint fyi.
