I just uploaded a new version of the exploit that should fix this problem. Just unzip it, execute "run.bat", and let me know how it goes.

If anyone has been having any problems with the exploit, please try the new version here:

not working with model SGPT112SA/S with stock 4.0.3 R1A

I have been told that 4.0.3 (no R) is rootable, but I can't get it to root with AIO or other rooting tool (bluechip?). I get a lot of "ADB server out of date killling" It sometimes acts like it finishes, but doesn't add SU.apk, and sometimes it stops in the middle.

Now the AIO tool turns orange and says "not rootable" due to kernel. My kernel says 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1.

1. Update to 4.0.3r1a. (Find update file via Stifilz's All Sony Tab OTA Update Links.)
2. Root 4.0.3r1a using Condi's S.onyTablet.S [ALLinONE] tool.
3a. Install Condi's Custom Prerooted DoubleFLASH 4.0.3r5a file using Condi's S.onyTablet.S [ALLinONE] tool. (I have used and prefer this method.)
- OR -
3b. Install Condi's Prerooted 4.0.3r5a Firmware using Condi's S.onyTablet.S [FLASHER] tool. (I have used but do not prefer this method.)

Thanks, Cat. I needed encouragement to get past thinking I might be beating a dead horse.

Had to do a number of things to fix it.. Uninstall Droid explorer to stop the "out of date killing", and something was wrong with the Sony driver. I just got lucky on that one, I think. Replaced it rather randomly with another one the driver update located.

I finally got root with Bin4ry's tool. Then did the update flashing with the custom pre-rooted R5A FW.
I didn't think of trying your method, but if I had seen it sooner, I would have tried.

Any way to confirm that I have the right recovery? I guess it is just an earlier stock recovery that doesn't break rooting.

Thanks. I'll try it out now! :)

Edit: I'm still getting the same end result. Should I wait for the device to boot fully to the launcher, when it asks me to press a button before it continues?
I tried to, but I have the same problem. My tablet is sgpt121it firm. 4.0.3 relase 3. Is it rootabled?
