Well, my HTC is DEAD! Water damage! So I got the Samsung Galaxy S4 and I am so happy! Will NEVER get another HTC device again! Unless they start doing away with that S-OFF bs! Too much of a pain! I rooted and flashed a new Rom on my S4 in less the 15 mins! LOL :silly:

i'm new user of jewel,
my device already rooted when i get for seller,
when i go to bootloader, it shows

i just want to know, can i flash custom rom kernel and etc, if my botloader status like that ?
my phone recovery is CM v.5.8.3.5.

Get rid of CWM recovery and get TWRP instead. CWM doesn't play well with the partitions on the EVO LTE and it's not supported anymore.

I replied somewhere that I encountered this same issue last Jan trying to update and root my phone on a win 8.0 Asus laptop with 3.0 USB only. The trick is to u install the built in microsoft USB drivers and install the Intel 3.0 USB drivers instead. Then u can see u your phone in bootloader mode. Granted this only works with Intel chipsets. The process used to be convoluted as Intel only had win 7 drivers at the time, but now they have win 8 drivers so updating is pretty easy. I can point out the original website where I dug up this info for updating but the info is outdated as its all about installing the Intel win7 drivers on Windows 8. These days u should easily just be able to go to Intel website and download their drivers and replace over existing Microsoft USB drivers. Your bootloader will then be able to be recognized via USB and off u go!
