as to data usage in my work the apn definatly makes a differenc and telstra.internet has the least latency etc, we have done extensive testing also the .iph pipe is also heavily throttlred. the telstra.internet pipe is much much more stable...again from real world serios testing. i work in broadcast and this area has been tested by most of us broadcast engineers. i found the euro image has less crap and as mentioned you have full access to the apn area....wow just noted how long i have been a member here:) this is all anecdotal realworld testing
Sorry, I meant makes no difference to the price. I use telstra.internet on my xoom and telstra.iph on my desire. Totally agree with the rest of your comments too, have found telstra.internet much faster.

Step 4 - Tiamat Kernel

[KERNEL][AOSP][HC3.1] Tiamat Riptide Special Edition 1.4.2 [Update: 5/21]

This is where those kickass quadrant scores come from. Follow instructions per usual for OZ-Spec. Dont forget to flash the new bootloader first.
Which boot image is safe to use? I am guessing the Verizon 3g but just want to check :)

from Telstra dated 6-6-11

replace *** with ://

about time;)
So does this mean we will be able to flash back to a Telstra ROM and NextG will work again?

I'm stumped. i've followed everything to the letter, done all the pushed and pulls, used almost every build.prop and settings.db combination possible, and nothing. No 3g.
it works, but just no 3g.. the heck?

I thought we still had NextG?

What's the status here, anyway? is everything working yet?
We have 3G, not NextG, at least, I've never seen HSPDA in use since making the change.

Also, you must have missed something along the way, the instructions are pretty easy as they stand. Start from the beggining and go over everything again, including rooting ETC.

What speeds should we be seeing? I'm getting about 8mbit down & 1.5mbit up pretty consistently.

And not sure what's going on with yours muskie. Love your work with t-mod on my desire, so not sure how someone of your modding experience is having issues none of us have. As stated before many times, just follow the 'mod my euro in 5 easy steps page' and it should work fine.

So Telstra have now announced that the 3.1 OTA update is coming soon.

I'm going to hold out and grab the OTA log link for the download so you guys can try and shoehorn it on.

Regards,
Shane.

telstra official OTA 3.1

Scrytch:

July is the date I've been given at work (telstra) for beginning of 3.1 rollout OTA.

Adamtuba:

Im getting very similar results. 8mbit/1.5mbit definitely faster then 3G however not as fast as next g devices i have at the same location. i'll look into the telephony settings see if theres something missing. I had a peek the other day, and the telstra version of build.prop and the telephony settings are way different to the US versions... something to investigate

Muskie:

have you got 3g working yet?

I had to push the build.prop settings and telephony files again to get mine working.

Just sayin..... ;)

Sent from my Telstra MZ601 with Tiamat custom rom and honeycomb 3.1 @ 1.7Ghz using XDA App
