Hello,

there is no problem to root 18.1.A.2.25.

it's not so easy than .21 or .23 but it's well working

first, you need to be on 18.1.A.2.25 :
1- allow debbug USB, and to put the scard in MSC mode
2- connect the phone to the PC, in order to have the question about allowing debug. answer yes but don't forget to tag "allways allow", because, it will not be possible to accept once you will have flashed the kernel 18.1.a.1.14.
3- shutdown the phone
4- Flash only the kernel 18.1.a.1.14 with Flashtool.
5- start the phone and connected it to PC. don't be afraid, you only see the SONY logo, and after the screen turn black. you haven't display, but the phone is well working.
6- Root the phone with RootKitXperia (last version is 20140719)
7- shutdown the phone. as you have no diplay, it's not possible to use the regular screen "shutdown", so hold the power button and the vol+ until the phone vibrate 3 times (firstly, it vibrate once, but stay holding buttons and the phone vibrate 3 times)
8- Flash only the kernel 18.1.a.2.25 with Flashtool.
9- start the phone
run SuperSu and accept upgrade.

enjoy
Spent two days trying to root my T3 by following these instructions and was getting really frustrated when I couldn't get Flashtool to flash the Kernels, only to find some KEY information that would help other newcomers is missing or has been assumed that everyone will know this anyway, hence I have re-done the instructions below to help other newcomers to root their phones.

first, you need to be on 18.1.A.2.25 :
1. Allow USB Debugging, and to put the SDCard into MSC mode
2. Connect the phone to the PC, in order to have the question about allowing debug. Answer yes whilst not forgetting to tag "Always Allow", because, it will not be possible to accept once you will have flashed the Kernel 18.1.a.1.14.
3. Disconnect your phone from the PC and turn the Phone off
4. Boot the Phone into Flashmode by holding the Vol- button whilst plugging the USB cable into your Phone.
5. Using Flashtool, flash the 18.1.a.1.14 Kernel.
6. Turn the Phone on and connected it to the PC. (Note that the screen will go black after the Sony logo goes, the display won't work but everything else should be fine).
7. Root the phone with RootKitXperia (last version is 20140719), the Phone will reboot during this process, again the screen will continue to be black. Once RootKitXperia has finished, unplug your Phone from the PC and turn it off. (Hold the Vol+ and power Button together until the Phone vibrates 3 times. Note that the phone will vibrate once, keep hold of the buttons until it vibrates a further 3 times.)
8. Boot the Phone into Flashmode again (by holding the Vol- button whilst plugging the USB cable into your Phone).
9. Using Flashtool, flash 18.1.a.2.25 Kernel.
10. Unplug your Phone and turn it back on. Once booted, you should see SuperSU in your App Draw,
11. Run Play Store and an update to SuperSU should be available, install the update.
12. Run SuperSU and accept Upgrade.

Does this method and the kernels included in this thread work on a D5106 (bootloader is locked as it is not eligible for unlocking) with 18.1.A.2.25?

Any informtion would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Probably the process is the same. The main step is flash the .14 kernel, because you can only root in .14, then you flash the last kernel you can.

To unlock bootloader you can do it here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
Its Sonys official website.

You have the tutorial on the first page of the threat, it is well detailed....

no, the flash process need to be with computer, you can use this tool: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
You can download almost every apps even the paid ones without root. but some of them may need root to work.
t3 has a costum rom, but not 5.0, its 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 (I think).
