First at all sorry for my worse english.
I'm a german user, so i'll hope you can read this right
A few days ago the apocalypse was running over me. I updated the wrong
Customfirmware on my Archos 97 Titanium HD.
The result of this was a bricked device!
-Could not start device
-USB was not recognised any more
So what is to do if this is happen to you?
First at all, anything you do is at your own risk!
I take over no guarantee, if something does not go or is destroyed.
Needed tools:
boot.img and recovery.img
Visture v5 HD image
RK Android Tool 1.35
Rockchip Batch Tool v 1.07
- a thin plastic card
- a small screwdriver
- a paperclip
- a tweezer
- usb cable
- power cable
- a sidekick
- a PC with both Windows and Linux
Open the device:
Take the plastic card and carefully open the device between
display and case. Start at the speakers and slide carefully
around the corners of your device.
Now, carefully lift up the display. That is the part for your sidekick
because you need free hands to work.
The display could not take off completely so a sidekick will be welcome.
Here you can see the board of your device:
1. Take off the strips marked blue (1+2) under Strip 1 is another screw
2. Now you have carefully to bend up the marked yellow metal sheets
3. Screw out the three screws (red)
4. Carefully pull out display cable (green)
Now you can lift off the board (carefully)
Pull off the metal sheet to get access to NAND and RK3066 Chip
If you are at this point, you need USB Cable, Power Cable and Paperclip!
Plug in USB to Device and PC
Plug in Power Cable to device
Take the paperclip and slide over contacts of the NAND from inside
the board to you. (blue marked)
If this has worked the PC find your device.
Now you need to use RKAndroidTool 1.35
Click on erase NAND and wait until RKAndroidTool is ready
Now you can close the program.
Open RK Batch Tool 1.7
Number 1:
- must be green if your device is found.
- If not, shutdown the device and plugin USB
- Startup the device by holding pressed Vol – and Power.
Number 2:
-search for Visture v5 HD update.img on your harddrive
Number 3:
-Press Upgrade and wait until its finished
If everything was in order, the device would have to start.
Now you need Linux to uplaod boot.img and recovery.img
Followed by the great Tutorials of Originalas :good:
- Archos 97 Titanium HD / Visture V5 HD ROM / Android 4.1.1
- Archos root und CWM guide
Start Linux, open Terminal
Flash boot.img back to tablet
sudo ./rkflashtool w 0x00008000 0x00008000 < boot.img
and
Flash recovery.img to tablet
sudo ./rkflashtool w 0x00010000 0x00008000 < recovery.img
Put everything together again carefully.
