How to unlock my device and go into fastboot mode

The seller tell me that i must unlock my device if i want to get into the fastboot mode.I want to flash the recovery into my device,and how can i do?
my device is LG g pad8.3(v500) in hongkong.I need help!!!!

i have flashed Recovery sucessfully,but i can not instand 'cm-11-20131229-NIGHTLY-v500.zip'.What should i do?

What does it say to you?.. Doesn't the recovery give you an error?

it tells me 'fail‘ and when i open device it said'booting error'

I just tried flashing it myself. It does not flash it simply reboots. Download the version just before, the 28 one. It works.

Could tou give me the version you have?I just find the version 2.6.3.0,and my English is poor

No no, TWPR is fine.

I mean the next CyanogenMod. Try and flash the second latest. Not 29 but 28.

If you already have TWRP you don't need anymore .lok files. CWM.img, is all you need. Not anything with .lok.

Go to PhilZ thread in here, and click on CWM download link. You get to list, then you find v500. You can just flash it in TWRP. It is a .zip. Flash it. Then you have CWM.

Its failing because you are not using the correct TWRP, your using the 1st one available, you need to flash the newer version 2.6.3.1 or higher, it does state this in the CM 11 thread
