They used hcu-client or dc-unlocker to read your honor 6x bootloader's unlock code ?
Jupp. DC. Did not work for me when I tried.
Probably the strange USB-Ports on my PC.
For mos I used my Laptop w/ fresh Win10… maybe it would have worked on my Laptop if I had tried dc-unlocker on that machine…

…but got root, did not pay more than I would have for dc-credits – I'm happy ^^

TWRP install problems

Is this thread still alive?

I'm having trouble flashing TWRP onto my 6X.

I was able to unlock the phone (had to pay DC Unlocker for the code, only 4 euros) and get it to boot into fastboot with ADB.

But when I try to flash TWRP, it seems to work, but it goes WAY too fast, or so it seems to me. Here's the DOS output:

C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-berlin.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (25226 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.712s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.179s]
finished. total time: 0.894s

That seems a bit fast to flash a 25mb file. I tried two different TWRP images.

After this apparent ADB flash of TWRP, when I try to boot in to recovery, it just takes me to the normal Huawei EMUI recovery, not TWRP. I have successfully done this with other devices, but I've never had this problem.

Am I missing something? Can I try a different Recovery?

You just need to reboot directly to recovery after flashing TWRP, otherwise stock recovery will overwrite TWRP when rebooting. So flash TWRP, then type "fastboot reboot", unplug the phone and hold down power button and vol+ immediately as you feel the device vibrating. Relase them when you see Honor logo and you're done. This will prevent stock recovery to overwrite TWRP and will bring you directly to TWRP homepage

I tried this repeatedly and it's just repeating what happened before.

I think my suspicion from my previous post must be true: the TWRP is not flashing. Fastboot is reporting that the flash worked, bu it's going way too fast. Is 0.902 seconds typical for flashing TWRP ?

Which version are you trying to use, OpenKirin I'd assume? Honestly I don't remember the flashing time in fastboot, but that version surely works fine on Nougat. Never had to do more except forcing reboot to recovery after flashing TWRP. If TWRP wouldn't flashed well, an error report should be detected in output result in fastboot. Does FRP and Phone status are shown as "unlocked" in fastboot screen..?

I read that OpenKirin requires EMUI 8.0 or 9.0. I bought my phone in the US, and Huawei did not update past 5.0 . I read in a thread somewhere that twrp-3.1.1-0-berlin.img works for 5.0. Additionally the current OpenKirin setup is using Magisk, according to their website. Most guides that I found said to use TWRP for the recovery.

Still not having any luck, and sometimes the phone is just opening to the unlock warning where it gives the warning and then says "your device is booting now", and it's just stuck there.

No i was meaning which version of TWRP, but reading the file name confirms to me that you're using OpenKirin TWRP. It's correct, that build works fully on EMUI 5.0. But I don't understand what are you trying to flash. What's your bootloader status? Locked or not?
